A week of different styles, 50 white premium roses for a groom to present to his bride before their traditional Asian wedding, classic hand tied whites and greens and the ever popular hat box arrangements which I seem to get asked for so often … then on to the making of another owl but this time in all artificial ( so much more difficult than fresh flowers) but I think she ( defo a she😊) turned out quite well.. she will be gracing a table at an upcoming wedding as there is a sentimental meaning … back to weddings and bespoke orders next week , Thankyou for the business as always 🙏🏻

Proud to asked to make a wreath in the colours and emblem of The Royal Corps of Signals who’s Latin motto “ certo cito” translates as swift and sure which encompasses the whole ethos of this regiment …quite a few birthday boxes sent out this week , with summer colours dominating … hard to believe we are now over halfway through the year … I swear it goes quicker as we get older !
Also a little glimpse into part of the flower wholesale fridge where I seem to spend so much time choosing quality blooms .. actually a much welcome relief from the heat 😊
Thankyou as always for the orders sent my way .. much appreciated 🙏🏻

Another hot week so limiting my buying to pre orders… it’s generally a quiet time building up to school holidays , vacations etc.. a time that my dad used to call “ the summer doldrums” 😊 that’s not changed much over the years … so what I’m saying is that pre ordering in advance is a must at the moment as it’s too wasteful to keep stock in when I can buy fresh for each days orders only … a little of this weeks offerings and a throwback to Hedwig the owl on his book of spells ( Harry Potter fans will know) how is it 12 months already since I carved and made that 😳
Enjoy the sun while it’s here as we don’t see too much of this weather 🌻x

Not really had chance to take photos this week .. it sort of came and went ! Starting the week with bespoke pieces and then ending with 23 bouquets for the end of show presentation of Gillies Mar-Jan Stage School but unable to photograph those in time .. a bit of a hard week one way and another but “ tomorrows another day” so sieze it because we never know what’s around the corner .. thankyou for all the support this week .. so much appreciated 🙏🏻

A challenging week with the heat and keeping flowers but nothing a good florist can’t deal with … daily buying , sensible buying and good conditioning processes all help to making sure all events booked in are catered for and no one is let down … just lately I have done a few funerals where I have been recommended by others which I am truly grateful for and nice to know that their trust in me was justified by the lovely Thankyou messages and calls received 🙏🏻
Another wedding where again I’m doing the next generation, this time it was Charlotte, she carried a bouquet of white garden roses , spray roses, astrantia and scabiosa with sage green gunni eucalyptus but centre stage going to the incredible scented white o hara rose with her frilly blush centre… the scent is divine 🌸 I made her mum Helen’s bouquet over 30 years ago so again it’s a privilege to be asked and play a small part in the day …
Last but not least some bright artificial pieces to go in the newly refurbished lounge at Rmi new ,this place never ceases to amaze at the space and versatility offered and well worth considering if you have an event to plan..
Thankyou again for keeping me busy , every order is genuinely appreciated 🙏🏻

What a fabulous wedding last week for Rebecca and Joe, a lovely intimate service at Smithills chapel with the altar rail adorned in delphiniums, hydrangeas and roses …. The bridesmaids wearing periwinkle blue and Rebecca’s lace gown was simply stunning ..the men all wore formal dinner suits so no buttonholes required..
A race against time to remove the church flowers and get them to the wedding venue which was the fabulous Mitton Hall and re set them up as the top table focal flowers … a logistical nightmare , involving lots of running and speedy loading up the can, but myself and Victoria ( Lancashire Floristry) worked this between us so we could be in both places at the same time ensuring everything was set up and ran smoothly … even the sun put in an appearance at the right time after a deluge while I was delivering the bridal bouquets that morning!
Another wedding of where I also did the brides parents , Rachael and Pauls wedding flowers about 30 years ago so very special to do their daughters flowers for her special day 💜and how stunning does Rachael look in her beautiful green ensemble and also a photo of dad.. giving his speech .. congratulations to you both and thankyou for letting me be a part of your day ..
A nod to your other fabulous suppliers..

It never ceases to amaze me the things I get asked to make for bespoke funeral pieces.. a 3ft Toblerone was a special request this week … I always say yes and then think later 🤔
It would have been too easy to just do the whole thing as a boxed chocolate bar …but who ever has an unopened Toblerone? Not me.. and I did eat one purely for research purposes… so an opened bar it was , complete with chocolate triangles showing through the wrapper, even nuts and “ nougat” ( actually some crunched up wooden beads but it did the trick 😊
And it’s not often I get to make a cross nowadays but this one looked stunning with its white orchids and ferns trailing over the edge.. a funeral heavy week but lightened by the beautiful wedding of Rebecca and Joe which I have been working on from weds through till today of which I will post pics of next week to give them chance to post first ..as always thankyou for the work and support , it means a lot 🙏🏻

A soft pastel kind of a week for my weddings and funerals … a trip to Mottram Hall for the wedding of Sarah and Luke .. Sarah carried an informal bouquet of pale pinks and whites with a touch of thistle to link to the Scottish connection of her family … tradition calls for the brides father to wear a different colour buttonhole to the rest of the party which I didn’t know so I’ve learned something this week .. then on to the wedding of Alison and Tom at the crown in Worthington which was a lovely intimate family and close friends sort of a wedding which I was lucky enough to attend as Alison is my stepsister and though our parents that were together have passed we still keep that connection going … a wired teardrop bouquet was her choice and it was a pleasure to create it for her … as always there were the sad occasions which take no less precedence … I am always grateful for the trust 🙏🏻 working on an unusual piece next week and then on to the wedding of Rebecca which will partly be in the beautiful Smithills hall chapel ,I went to do some measuring up this week and as always I’m blown away by the age and history of this wonderful gem we have on our doorstep .. Thankyou again for the support and choosing me for your important occasions … very blessed 🙏🏻

An incredibly busy week with some very emotional events … shades of yellows and purples to mirror the garden colours that Jack sadly never got to enjoy, a red and white football to remember the last football game watched together with his sister.. .. thoughts as always are with this lovely family… a bright yellow wreath chosen with love by Olive for her cherished husband who was a market Gardener in his day and loved chrysanthemums ..then on to the wedding of Martin and Julie at the Hawthorns… second time around for them both proving you never know what’s around the corner … Martins dad and my dad were lifelong best friends so I feel both would have been smiling down on this lovely day 😊 congratulations to you both for every continued happiness together… one photo that I took in the back of my van sums up how my days are filled with life’s occasions … wedding flowers on one side … a cross on the other …I thought it was quite poignant and a reminder to seize the day and enjoy life to the full 🙏🏻 if you read this far on my flower ramble .. I thank you 🙏🏻

A request for “ tumbling” dominoes with orange spots ( or pips ) which gave a nod to Blackpool football club combining two sport interests .. with a bright arrangement to match… carrying on the bright summer flower theme for Norah .. leaving her beloved farm and home by horse drawn hearse for her final journey … a wonderful lady who instilled a deep love of animals in her family enabling her daughters to run a riding school beloved of so many , the second funeral for this lovely family this year so I was humbled to be asked again to create the flowers… hoping their next occasion will be a happy one 🙏🏻 Thankyou again for keeping me busy , always appreciated 🌸
