Here is our final artist for Woodland Wonder!

We’re delighted to welcome back Laura Frances Martin to Woodland Wonder!

Laura has already been weaving magic with intoBodmin this year, she worked with local schools to create the incredible Water Beast that wowed the crowds at Bodmin Carnival.

At the start of this week, Laura led a much-loved Chandelier of Dreams Workshop, where the community began weaving a shared artwork from willow, costume jewellery and woodland debris.

On 6th September at Woodland Wonder, this chandelier will be completed and everyone will be invited to add their own wish, dream, or concern for Bodmin before it’s lifted into the tree canopy as a glowing symbol of community voices.

As a special treat for the event, Laura will also introduce a brand new craft: bespoke willow dreamcatchers, a chance to weave your own piece of magic to add to the branches or take home.

Hidden in plain sight behind Bodmin’s Fore Street are the Burgage Plots long, narrow strips first laid out in the Middle Ages.
Once used for gardens, workshops and storage behind bustling shopfronts, many of their hedgebank boundaries are still in place 700+ years later.
Today, they survive as a unique green corridor in the town centre, valued for both heritage and nature, a living map of Bodmin’s medieval past shaping its future.
🥳...and this SAT (6th Sept) 11 am - 4 pm WOODLAND WONDER takes place, a FREE day open to all, designed to be interactive, joyful and a place for conversation and reflection, removing barriers so everyone can take part. Through shared experiences and hands on making. WOODLAND WONDER aims to strengthen community connection and wellbeing.

It's a tricky time for artists like Will Adamsdale

A lot of artists and performers rely on subsidies and help to bring their art and work to places like Cornwall. And then we, at intoBodmin try and charge a fair as price as possible - enabling you to come and see it, and for the artist to get paid. We also rely on grants that help to keep our doors open and employ our part time members of staff.

It's a near impossible balancing act and one we have conversations about everyday.

Back to the hilarious Will Adamsdale - he is trying to bridge the gap in making a new show (coming to the Old Library in November) and getting it on the road. He needs your help.
