Announcing our superb cast for Junction 4's next production, the 80s themed π—”π—Ήπ—Άπ˜ƒπ—² & π—žπ—Άπ—°π—Έπ—Άπ—»π—΄! It was an extremely tough selection process due to the talent on show so congratulations to everyone who auditioned. ⭐

We had a brilliant first cast table read last night which was part read, part karaoke - well you can't really help yourself with 80s tunes can you?! 🎀

The characters won't mean much to you now but you'll learn a lot more about them over the next few months. πŸ’œ

As you might spot, we're still one adult male performer short so this is a fantastic chance to join our cast for something new and a bit different. Please ask around! 🎭

"A dazzling and highly entertaining production. Junction 4 Productions demonstrated not just a love of theatre but an impressive level of skill, creativity, and professionalism. This was amateur theatre at its very best β€” bold, imaginative, and brilliantly executed."

"Strong performances, inventive staging, and impressive production values"

"A dynamic, immersive experience"

"The vision of the in-house set build team known as The Shed (an offshoot of Junction 4), resulted in a set that rivalled and bettered many professional hire companies. "

Just SOME of the glowing comments in this AMAZING show review by The Association of Community Theatre (ACT). The cast and production team receive huge praise.

Everyone involved in our production of 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' needs to read this, and feel VERY proud.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT .....but there are STILL TICKETS LEFT for today's matinee and evening performance of 'Return to the Forbidden Planet'.

The latest reviewer said: "I saw this Production last night. It was brilliant. I’d already seen it twice at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool. This Production was the equal of those. The lighting, in particular, was sensational, and the singing, the best I’ve heard in a long time.
Well done Junction 4 Productions."

Great review of the show by John Gill.

"Went to see Return to the Forbidden Planet with Amanda last night. She's seen it a long time ago, but I didn't know anything about it apart from the fact that it's a musical remake of the 1950s movie Forbidden Planet (which I have seen, also a long time ago!).

What a rollicking fun night out! I had no idea the script was all written in 'Shakespearese' so that took me off guard (A nod, no doubt, to the fact that the original movie was a modern day take on Shakespeare's play, The Tempest). Dad jokes ahoy - the script is absolutely chock-a-block with groan-inducing Shakespeare puns. I lost count!

Before the start of the show, the cast mingle in character with the audience (sorry, 'passengers' of the USS Starship Albatross) to get you immersed right from the get-go.

The show is a technical marvel incorporating live-synced video links and clips, sound effects, pyros in addition to atmospheric lighting. The band were tight and sounded fantastic, amazing singing, elaborate and inventive set design and costumes, foot-stompingly infectious classic rock'n'roll hit songs all brilliantly choreographed.

Belting good solos from all the main characters who all absolutely knocked them out of the park. Being a sucker for a comedic character, I did enjoy Frazer 's portrayal of the poor put-upon robot Ariel, like a 1950s version of C-3PO - only with added charm and pathos!

I am biased of course but sister dear stole the show (with her one line πŸ˜‚)

My heart went out to the poor sound tech who had to fight a very naughty radio mic at one point during the second half (been there, done that!!) but it didn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the show.

Local am-dram doesn't get much better than this - go and bag yourself a ticket quick, you'll be glad you did!"

Thank you!

Our Story

Established in 1904, Junction Four Productions (formerly Lytham Amateur Operatic Society) is one of the original amateur musical groups on the Fylde Coast of the UK. With a rich tradition of classic and contemporary musical productions under our belts, we stage at least one musical performance per year, usually in the Lowther Pavilion but we are expanding and diversifying our repertoire into other areas of performance in 2018.

We also provide other services of use to the theatre world:

We make and design scenery, staging and props. We have many regular clients including societies and schools.

We have an extensive collection of props and costumes for hire at reasonable rates.
