“Baby loss certificate launched to recognise parents grief”

🙏Today marks a milestone moment that I wish existed when I worked as a Deputy Registrar for Birth, Death and Marriages.

The Mariposa Trust (sayinggoodbye.org) has tirelessly campaigned for over the past 9 years.
“I’m thrilled that from today millions of families will finally get the formal acknowledgment that their baby existed and I hope this will help their grieving process”

Baby loss certificate launched to recognise parents’ grief
Baby loss certificates for parents who experienced a loss of pregnancy before 24 weeks are now available for application from 9am today (22 February 2024).

All parents who have experienced baby loss since September 2018 can apply.

They should visit the gov.uk website - applicants must be at least 16 years old, have been living in England at the time of the loss and be one of the baby's parents or surrogate.

If your pregnancy ends before 24 weeks, you can get a certificate in memory of your baby.

It’s free to get a certificate.

You do not need to request a certificate if you prefer not to. It’s optional.

The certificate is not a legal document - for example you cannot use it to claim benefits.

The certificate will not be added to your GP record.

If your pregnancy ends from 24 weeks onwards, you need to register a stillbirth instead.

🚶‍♀️I’ve just got home from my morning walk …and whilst feeling inspired I wanted to share this … coincidence 🌸

On the 13th February (what would have been my nans birthday) I received this beautiful card (and some lovely yummy fudge) from a lovely kind family I had the honour of helping for a special ceremony.

It's funny how life throws these little surprises at us. One moment you're missing someone terribly, and the next moment …boom, you feel a sense of a magic hug 🫂

The words on the card …

“You're my reminder to be a little more brave, to not be so afraid, and to remember that things will turn out okay in the long run.”

My Nan always used to say “be a little brave and less afraid”

She also used to say…

"Be thankful for what you have now, If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough, but when your thankful for everything you have - life gives you more”

I know this sounds silly but I feel so happy. It's like her way of saying, 'I might not be around, but I'll always be with you.' I know they don’t make cards in heaven or the magic place we go to after this world but … this card is a weird and very lovely coincidence that I received it on her birthday and the words touched my heart and soul in a special way - I’ll treasure this card forever THANKYOU! ❤️🌟

Big smiles to cherishing what we have, laughing at life's odd timings, and being thankful for every little thing.

And of course, to my nan, whose love keeps sprinkling her magic even from the heavens above. 👵🌈💕

I am, feeling like the luckiest person on earth.

Not one, but TWO days in a row I’ve received beautiful flowers from truly amazingly kind customers who are now and always will be cherished friends 🌼🌻

My job as a celebrant / officiant is pretty amazing. I get to play a small part in some of the happiest days and helping people on some of the saddest days of people's lives.

But life has a funny way of giving us new opportunities when we least expect them, today was my last ceremony (for a while anyways 😉 - apart from festival / farm weddings)

I'm excited to announce from this day forth I'll be focusing on the launch of our “Wedding Celebrant Training” celebrant diploma qualification school. 🎓 “THE POWER INVESTMENT IN YOU🫵”🔜

It's a whole new adventure, but if it's anything like my journey so far, I know it's going to be incredible. Plus we’ll be changing life’s and spreading so much happiness!

How many people get to say they adore their job AND get to contribute positively to others' lives every day? … “I do”🥰

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the wonderful people I’ve met and had the privilege and honour to have worked with over the last few years and for your support and kindness. You've made this ride more fulfilling than I ever dreamed it could be. ❤️

So here's to more adventures, learning, and creating blooming brilliant opportunities for lovely people. 🥂

Hello, wonderful people!

As I sit here tonight, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I have what I believe is the best job in the world, and I couldn't be more excited to share that joy with you all.

Tomorrow marks my last wedding of the year, and it's going to be a spectacular event! We're celebrating love in its purest form at a breathtaking location in Cheshire, bringing together two distinct cultures in a beautiful union whereby two families become one.

As a wedding and funeral officiant, I've had the privilege of witnessing some of the most profound moments in people's lives. I've held space for couples as they embark on their new journey together, and I've comforted grieving families while honoring the lives of their loved ones. It's not just a job, it's an honor, a privilege, a responsibility and my vocation that I carry with pride and gratitude.

There's something magical about bringing together two different cultures, two families, two hearts, under the banner of love. The joy, the laughter, the tears - it's all so beautifully overwhelming and tomorrow’s ceremony is going to be nothing short of beautifully brilliant!

Once tomorrow is over I'll be shifting gears towards the most ambitious project of my life.
I'm going to launch our school and teach others this incredible vocation to the highest level 3 Diploma as we’re a fully licensed school.

I want to share the magic, the honor, the joy of being a wedding and funeral officiant with others.

So, if you've ever felt drawn to this path or know someone who might be, stay tuned.

Love is a universal language that knows no boundaries. It transcends culture, race, religion and any other differences that may exist among us.

Love has the power to bring people together, regardless of where they come from or what they believe in.

Our very own Hallie has bagged herself a 9 (A**) in English and passed her exams including Maths GCSES with flying colors! 🥳👏🎉

CONGRATULATIONS HALLIE WERE MEGA PROUD!

I actually can’t stop crying- we’re over the moon she passed her maths exam and flipping crying with excitement she got a 9 in blooming English!!! 😳🤯
