💦 Did you know Kynren’s 7.5 acre stage includes a lake?

Part of our dramatic storytelling takes place on water, with a team of safety divers and rescue swimmers always standing by to keep our cast and animals safe.

🛟 Trained, calm and ready for anything, our divers work every show night just out of sight, making sure everything runs smoothly during the sequences on and around the lake.

🙌 They’re a vital part of Kynren’s 1,000 strong volunteer team and just one of the reasons this show is unlike anything else in the UK.

Our Viking volunteers are deep in rehearsal, mastering swordwork, forging chainmail and learning traditional skills like weaving. All ahead of Kynren’s most epic summer yet! ⚔️

Before the 90 minute show begins, explore our 9th century Viking Village where warriors train, blacksmiths fire up the forge and history comes to life in every corner. Keep an eye out for authentic touches too, including our flock of Icelandic chickens – a rare breed descended from birds brought to the UK over 1,000 years ago. 🐓

Expect fierce combat, thunderous atmosphere and unforgettable live action drama under the stars.

🏆 Big Wins for Kynren and the North East!

We’re thrilled to share that Kynren has won Best Event for Groups at the Group Leisure & Travel Magazine Awards 2025! It’s an incredible honour to be recognised among so many inspiring experiences.

This is no ordinary pram… 👶✨

It’s a genuine Victorian classic, carefully chosen for our Jubilee scene in Kynren’s 2025 season!

Here’s a glimpse at what’s in store:
🎭 311 new props and costumes
🕺 186 characters on stage
🐎 18 horses including a magnificent six horse royal carriage
🚒 A full scale replica of ‘Nelson,’ a Victorian fire engine from 1890, inspired by the original now cared for at Beamish Museum

Although the scene is set in Victorian London, we’ve woven in real stories and people from the North East. From replica ice cream carts honouring the Rossi family to the heritage behind Nelson, it’s our way of celebrating the local spirit and the volunteers who help bring Kynren to life. 🍦
