There comes a point in every makeup artist’s career where you question yourself.
Maybe you’ve just qualified.
Maybe you’ve lost your confidence.
Maybe life got in the way and now you’re trying to find your feet again.
Or maybe you’ve been doing makeup for years but feel like you’ve hit a plateau.
I’ve been there.
I’ve had to press the reset button more than once in my 12 years as a makeup artist. I’ve questioned myself, compared myself to others and wondered if I was doing enough.
The biggest thing I’ve learnt?
Confidence doesn’t come from another certificate.
It comes from understanding your technique, finding your own style, practising with purpose and having someone in your corner who can help you see what you can’t.
You don’t have to become another artist.
You just have to become your signature.
