I’m a local, contemporary wedding photographer based in Solihull near Birmingham. Before the era of digital photography I spent over 2 years at college studying and perfecting my skills to become a fully qualified photographer. I had a fantastic lecturer who taught me the art of using a camera and post processing skills in the dark room, as a result of this I was awarded a distinction in photograp

hy in 1999. The experience I gained in film photography and dark room processing have allowed me to gain an invaluable comprehension of how to use the camera as a tool in the art of taking the perfect picture. With the dawn of digital photography and the use of the ‘auto’ button this is a skill that has quite often been lost but essential when achieving outstanding photographs. I have transferred all my knowledge and expertise to the digital format and subsequently started shooting weddings and baby photography, which are now the 2 subjects in which I’m most passionate about photographing.

This was taken at the beautiful The West Mill — one of my favourite venues for its industrial character and incredible window light.

As the sun dropped, it poured through the tall factory windows and wrapped around them perfectly. No fuss. No over-posing. Just a moment for them to take it all in.

It’s these small pauses in the day that often become the most meaningful images.

Emilie & Lloyd’s incredible summer wedding at Hampton Manor ☀️

The day began with the guys getting ready in their ivory and blue suits, relaxed and playing pool before heading to Hampton Manor, where everything came together perfectly. Emilie’s morning was calm and enjoyable with Lauren Smith and Stephanie Hayes helping the girls get ready.

The sunshine made full use of the grounds, with guests entertained by Jester Styles during the drinks reception. The wedding breakfast brought one of the highlights of the day, when Undercover Artists surprised everyone and had the entire room on their feet and straight into a conga.

With beautiful styling from Diamond Lush Events and flowers by Flair with Flowers, the room looked fantastic, and the night finished with a packed dance floor thanks to Ultra Glow Band.

One of those beautifully real moments where the noise fades, the nerves settle, and it all sinks in.

Their day was full of laughter, personality, and genuine connection — from relaxed morning prep to these quiet, emotional pauses that make weddings so special.

" Dave attended our wedding at Moxhull and has been fantastic from start to finish. The quality of his work speaks for itself but what really impressed me was him, from start to finish he was on hand to answer our questions. On the day he was great at keeping people relaxed, having fun and directing shots. If you wanted anyone to "boss you around" as I called it, it would be him! Especially given I am not the most receptive to having a photo taken :) He spent time thinking about what would look good and how to shoot it. His turnaround time from wedding to finished photos was impressive, especially given the sheer volume of shots. "
