🐝World Bee Day!🐝
The 20th of May marks World Bee Day, which is endorsed by the UN, highlighting the essential contribution that bees and other pollinators make in keeping people and the planet healthy.
Here's what some of our venues do to help the bees!💛
🐝 Haydock Park (part of The Jockey Club Venues) has welcomed around 100,000 bees to four new hives at their 123-acre site. It's hoped that the honey the bees produce will enhance many of the dishes served across their menus, even including their cocktails!
✍ They're also introducing several theoretical and practical training courses for employees – covering the craft of beekeeping, the life cycle of bees, methods for honey extraction and preparation, and swarm control.
🐝 Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre has well-established beehives that produce up to 65kg of honey per year, to be used across their conference & events menus!🍯
🐝 Milton Hill House has four hives on site, which will be harvested shortly for guests to enjoy. have beehives onsite to promote biodiversity and support local pollinator populations.
🐝 The Venues Collection are currently installing beehives at Eastwood Hall and Sedgebrook Hall, so they too can produce their own honey and support the bees!
