BRIDES TIP!

The Guest List!

Deciding on the guest list can often lead to worry and anxiety when planning a wedding. Here are our top tips for sorting your wedding guest list.

1) What size of wedding do you ideally want? It is good to get this in your mind before you start working on the guest list because you will often be surprised how many names crop up to invite...

2) Write four lists
i) Guests the bride must invite
ii) Guests the groom must invite
iii) Guests the bride family must invite
iv) Guests the groom must invite

Just write down all of the names. Go through your address book, your phone book and you page! Ask your parents who they would like to invite. Write down ALL the names to start with.

3) Now you need to split the list! If you are having the same people all day, then you may want to consider having a A) and B) list. If you are planning to have day and evening guests them split them into day and evening lists.

4) Put the list away and look back at it in a couple of days. Have you included everyone? Have you included people that you have just done out of courtesy?

5) Refine the list!

You have to remember that this is YOUR wedding and you shouldn't just invite people because you feel you should. This can really eat into your budget and you may be able to save yourself a few pounds.

Once you have decided on your guest list, keep a record of it. You want to know when you have invited people and record their RSVPs. Doing this now will really reduce stress closer to the wedding!
