Greater Manchester Police is transforming how its operational data is managed, shared and used, moving away from legacy integrations towards a scalable cloud-based architecture.

At the Microsoft Partner Stage, this session will explore how GMP partnered with Telefónica Tech to modernise its data platform using Azure Databricks, creating a foundation for operational reporting, intelligent analytics and future AI capabilities.

Ben Jarvis, CTO at Telefónica Tech (EN), and Dan Toland, Assistant Director, IT & Digital Directorate - Architecture & Strategy at Greater Manchester Police, will share how connected data is supporting better operational decision-making, Police Reform and the foundations for predictive policing.

What does it take for five police forces to build and share one digital asset management system?

At almost 3 petabytes, the Five Forces DAMS is the largest shared digital asset management system in UK policing, giving five separate forces one governed home for their digital evidence while enabling it to be shared across force boundaries.

Built on AWS, the project demonstrates how a shared service can help reduce costs, strengthen information governance and make collaboration across forces possible at scale.

At the Emergency Tech Leaders’ Stage, sponsored by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Hertfordshire Constabulary and Aetopia will share the story from both sides of the project: what was built, what they learned and the toughest problems they had to solve along the way.
