RESISTANZ FESTIVAL CREME EGG AND SPOON RACE IMPORTANT NEWS!

When: Saturday night (4th April) 1:15am during CharlieOctoGirl's DJ set
Where: The Warehouse dancefloor
What: Just before the race you'll be given a signal and its time to find an EGG MARSHAL. They will be wearing a hi viz. Grab an Creme Egg and a spoon from them and take youur place on the starting line at the side of the dancefloor.
Not taking part? Then you can totally keep dancing! Just shimmy up to the back half of the dancefloor so you don't get run over.
When this track (Giganti - Danger Mouse) starts, you'll get a count down and the GO when the beat drops - Mosh pit rules apply, look after each other!
πŸ‘‰ To complete the race you must cross the dancefloor, turn and come back to cross the finish line WITH YOUR EGG ON YOUR SPOON THE ENTIRE TIME! When you cross the finish line you must shout out ALL HAIL THE EGG! Only if you do these things can you be our eggy victor!
My Egg Marshals will be keeping an eggy eye out for un-eggly conduct, and they will also be declaring our winner!

Winner wins THE ULTIMATE EGG CUP and of course the glory.
All competitors win Creme Eggs... obviously (vegan jelly sweets available to switch out for post-race yum yum times for our vegan pals!) plus the bragging right to say you took part in this fu***ng riduclous thing.

See you there yeah?

Look at you all you beautiful little weirdos! What a bloody great night last night was and our new little photo booth/fit check booth is so much fun!

I am constantly amazed at the ways folks show up for each other and for events like ours. Thank you SO much for making parties like this possible.

We're really working hard on making Church the best it can be and you're a massive part of that. You're what makes folks feel welcome and seen here and we love seeing you dancing and making friends old and new.

Want to help us on our endeavour to build something magic?
Our next event is on the 25th of July. It's going to be glorious summer time in Reading and loads of the Church fam have special stuff to celebrate. It would be amazing if we could make this event extra, extra special.

So if you're considering joining us for a party this year, round up some weirdos and come hit up Face Bar with us. It's going to be huge amounts of fun with a night of incredibly varied dark alternative music (with a heavy dose of wonk) and loads of lush people.

If you want a hand coordinating lifts or tips on places to stay or whatever, give us a shout and we can totally help with that.

There's SO much in store across the whole team before then, but I am really looking forward to seeing you weirdos back at Face Bar in July πŸ™πŸ˜˜

Thanks everyone for a heart healing night last night. Imma go die now.

No YOU forgot the power supply for your laptop and so couldn't export your crates to your USB for Church of Madness in Reading tonight.... 😬

Massive thanks to EndTransmission who let me work from his LUXURY SHED this afternoon so I could get some POWER and do some curation and beat grid edits ahead of tonight. FFS... Di****ad πŸ€¦πŸ˜‚

See you later folks! Face Bar doors at 9pm

We're coming up on a little flurry of opportunities to dance with me in clubs all over the place!
While I know many eyes are laser sighted on Resistanz Festival right now (eeeeeee!) there's also a bunch of other great stuff coming up too.

Starting this weekend, Saturday 21st March with Church of Madness in Reading at Face Bar for some Dark Alternative tunes and super friendly weirdos.
Saturday 4th April is my date for Tanz playing out a Dark DnB set, but if you can make it for the whole weekend you absolutely should because the line up of both artists and DJs is fu***ng immense. Tickets on the Corporation website.
Saturday 24th April is pH1 : techno here in Birmingham at Suki10c. Solid fu***ng techno with a heavy dose of those acid sounds. Awesome underground vibes in a brilliant venue. There's some great hype for this and I know there's a bunch of you coming to this so thanks loads for getting your tickets early. Supporting the local scene here in Brum means a lot. Come be part of something special and grab your tickets on Skiddle.
29th/30th May is the Beat:Cancer / Schism Rock Club / Church of Madness Weekender in Reading. S**t tonne of amazing live music, including my girl REEBZ on vocals with Toronto is Broken. I'll be DJing with TeamCofM on both nights. Tickets on the Beat:Cancer website
27th June I'm heading up to Leeds for Bunker 13 at Eiger Studios. Hyped to be back in Leeds, mind blown to be invited to play Bunker. A brilliant event and absolute institution in the UK EBM/Industrial/Darkwave scene celebrating 20 years of amazing parties this year. Cannot wait! Tickets on the door.

Don't forget you can catch me most Sundays on Twitch from 5pm as well.

So there's loads to look forward to even just in the next few months. The best way to keep up is to join my Discord, where you can also be part of the mischief planning and meet up chats that go along with all these dates. You also get to hear first about new things like music or videos I'm working on.
It basically ensures you don't miss out or find out too late that we could have hung out because algorithms decided that week that my content wasn't for you and so hid posts like this from you.... So get your butt on my Discord!

I feel so frikkin lucky that I get to play out at such a range of events. You lot know the vast range of stuff that I love and love to play in my sets, so I feel incredibly blessed that I actually get the opportunities to hit up dancefloors with this stuff and not get type-cast with one or two genres.
Huge, HUGE thanks to all these promoters for having faith in me and for giving me a platform. I am so very grateful. πŸ–€

Which events are you coming to? When am I going to get to see yoooouuuu?!

Where you can find me - DJ dates March-June '26

With my dates now announced for the first half of the year here's a handy round-up of where you can party with me over the next few months:

21st March - Church of Madness , Face Bar, Reading. As one of the resident team along side Endtransmission and Simon Penguin. You can find me playing out a mix of Modern Goth, Dark Alternative, Industrial, Electro, Techno and a little dab of DnB - Tickets on the door.
4th April - Resistanz Festival , Corporation Sheffield, Sheffield. Catch me on the Saturday night of this amazning 3-day festival (defintely come for the whole thing if you can, the line up is amazing!) where I'll be dropping a really special Dark DnB, Breaks and Jungle set - Weekend and Day tickets available on the Corporation website.
24th April - pH1 : techno, Suki10C, Birmingham. I'm very happy to back of an all-Brum DJ line up for the April edition of pH1:Techno. Expect a mix across the Techno specrum with a heavy lean on the old Acid - Tickets on Skiddle.
29th & 30th May - Beat:Cancer weekender w/Schism Rock Club & Church of Madness, Face Bar, Reading. I'll be repping the Church of Madness crew as part of the ever brilliant Beat:Cancer weekender. With two nights of live acts and DJs across a whole host of alternative generes. This is gonna be sick! - Tickets available on the Beat:Cancer website
27th June - Bunker 13, Eiger Studios, Leeds. Bucket list item acheived! I'll be heading up to join the legenardy Team Lee to hit the decks at Bunker. Celebrating 20 years of this incredible event this year, I'm hyped to be joining them to spin some truely filthy Electro, Industrial, a lil smidge of EBM and most likely a bunch of nasty Dark Techno.

You can of course also find me on Twitch most Sundays from 5pm.

I've got some more awesome stuff getting annouced over the next few months, but I do still have a little wiggle room for bookings later in the year so give me a shout if you're looking for a genre-bending, shape shifting cephalopod for your line up.

I'M REALLY GOOD AT THIS!.... 😐
Back on the old Twitch from 5pm with some sunny DnB, even if the sky has failed me and it's now fu***ng raining ... Prick.

Some sneaky Resistanz Festival set previews gonna get dropped in there too but the vibe is solid sunny window-down cruising tunes.

I'm back behind the decks at Church of Madness next Saturday the 21st March at Face Bar, Reading too. Switching it up once again for a whole bunch of Dark Alternative stuff.
I really feel so blessed that I get the opportunity to play out such a range of stuff. It makes my eclectic music loving nerd heart very happy indeed.

Speaking of which, I've been asked to do a Trance set by the CephaloSquad community and oh HELLS YES! I have a little story to tell as to why I'm so very all over this, but you'll have to join the stream later to hear why ;)

Catch you lovely di*****ds on Twitch from 5pm and hopefully see some of you in Reading next week as well.

Maybe one day I'll figure out this 'content' malarkey and stop just making stupid fu***ng videos of me chatting s**t 🀣

Connnnttteeeennnnnnnttttttttttt!

⏳ 7 DAYS! Join us at Face Bar Reading from 9pm with residents EndTransmission DJ Simon Penguin and meeeeee as well as guest for this month SIDAL, whose atmospheric bio you can find in the post below!

At Church of Madness we play a very broad mix of Dark Alternative music. So whether you love the more traditionally expected styles of Goth, Futurepop and EBM etc or the darker selections from across Techno, DnB, Electro and co - we've got you covered!

We're blessed with a gloriously socially awkward but wonderfully friendly crowd who we adore as well. So if you're looking for a place to find 'your people' it's also a brilliant place for that.

Come find new tunes. Come and dance your cutie patootie off. Come chat and find new friends. Come to church!

Image description: Event flyer with dates and times as in post text. The flyer is dark and atmospheric in its colour themes. On the right is a photo of guest DJ SIDAL who has an incredible look that includes dramatic body painting and an impressive mask consisting of a full head deer skull and huge antlers.

The nightclub is a temple, and dancing is a ritual. Hailing from the dark abyss that is London, Sidal now invites you to join him in Reading for his debut appearance.

Forged on London’s dancefloors, Sidal immersed himself in everything from aggrotech and industrial to techno and hardstyle. Following the pandemic, he made the leap from cybergoth raver to DJ, gravitating toward rhythm-driven, bass-heavy sounds. His style now centres on industrial bass and cyberpunk midtempo.

Since getting his hands on DJ equipment in 2024, he has rapidly honed his craft, developing a sharp ear for track selection and seamless mixing, always with the goal of delivering an unforgettable experience to the crowd. Performing under various monikers, he has played at GothBox Luton alongside DJs such as w0lfDaddy and scene veterans including Ultravixen.

Even behind the decks, he stays deeply connected to the dancefloor, eager to ensure the aural pleasure of his ritualists.

NGL I have been very much enjoying my first proper dip into the land of Vinted to pick up some new-to-me treats ahead of some up coming fun stuff at bargain prices.
But I think this one is my favourite.

The 90s day theme so kindly thrust upon us by Karkasaurus and has meant I FINALLY get to live out a teenage dream of owning one of these wildly impractical bags 🀣

I have immediately put some lollipops in it. Because we all know that these bags are only for lollipops, a dangerously visible small cash only purse and one single door key right?

You bet your butt I will have a 2nd -actual- bag stashed backstage with all my -actual- belongings in it. 🀣

All things Resistanz Festival in one place thanks to Elektro Vox!

Full day listings, set times, artist bios and Elektro Vox's top pick must sees for the weekend too.

What are your must sees?
Which artists are you absolutely down the front for?
Which ones are new to you and you're curious to check out?
Most importantly, what are you going to do to make sure Elektro Vox can convince Leighton James-Thompson to be interviewed at long last? Because we all need that right?

Welcome once again to the annual Resistanz Festival article, this time with a couple of extra additions including new recommendation categories, extra (and more ethical) playlists, and the new Beat:Cancer compilation.

Spent the day in Bristol for the Karkasaurus day rave for Beat:Cancer

My body is broken but my soul is happy. Haven't danced that much in ages. Shout out to those who joined me for some seated raving later in the day when my legs properly gave out.

Fu***ng amazing stack of DJs, venue full of lush mates old and new, ears rammed with some delicious filth.

More of this nonsense!

oh and sorry to those who thought I was DJing today. It was the OG Church of Madness crew on the decks today and I was off duty in full f**k about mode, and it was glorious! EndTransmission and Simon Penguin played a belter mind!
We did however take some new team promo shots in the photo booth and they are suitably fu***ng ridiculous. So you have those to look forward to soon too 🀣

Late but here! This was an incredibly fun and deeply meaningful photo project I did with Jason Walter in '25.
I had some ideas for a series of looks as I needed some new promo shots done. However I also had this fu***ng weird artistic concept in mind and as ever I knew Jason would roll with me on this and bring his incredible skill and talent to the project.

On the surface these are, undeniably, cool shots. They strike a line between creepy and sexy that I really like and they are absolutely something you'd put on the wall right?
But this wasn't about just making something 'look cool'. I wanted to try and capture a feeling I live with every day as someone with so many non-aparent conditions, many of which impact my cognition.

I live with this ever present and ever fluctuating position of ability and capability that means in a moment I can go from seemingly super capable to struggling with the most basic of tasks. It's something I hide well but that is incredibly challenging to live with both physically and mentally.

I have described the mental fog element of this as a creeping sensation that I often don't even notice at first but quite quickly I can become completely absorbed by. Until I'm just peering through a filter into what feels like another world where everyone else exists.

I wanted to try and capture some of this artistically... And have some fun with it!
So I created a thick black ooze out of kitchen cupboard bits and bobs, glued lil spikes to some awesome nails and hopped in the bath.
We had one take on this because of the mess and Jason shot the whole thing super rapid to capture every moment in it's drippy glory.

There were so many great shots to chose from, but in my edit I've selected a few that I feel capture this creeping, sinister, overpowering sensation and this idea of me peering through into the world you inhabit.

Disability isn't all sad and pity, but it's important to see the whole thing. I'm forever masking the constant physical and mental agony while trying to inform folks of it's presence. It's a hard balancing act.

Whether you enjoy these for the cool gooeyness or for the intended message, I hope you like them.

Image descriptions:
1) Charlie with a finger to lips as to 'shh' staring right at the camera. She has a black liquid poured all over her head dripping down her face.

2) A crop of Charlie's black ooze covered face. The liquid is in her mouth coating her wonky teeth. Her fingers are splayed across her cheek with long spiked black nails.

3) A tight crop showing thin lines of black ooze coming from Charlie's hair line dripping down her forehead and temple. Her eyes are scrunched up as if in pain or screaming

4) A tight crop of Charlie's wide open eyes looking up. Her hand is across her face and the black ooze is thick and dripping down her nose and across her lips.

5) an out take. Charlie is very clearly sat in a bath. She is sticking her tongue out and has her hand up showing the devil horns.
