🌈Celebrate Autism Pride Day at ZOOP🌈

Did you know this Pride month, the 18th June is Autism Pride Day?
Did you know that a higher percentage of autistic individuals identify as LGBTQIA+ than the neurotypical population?
Did you know that autistic adults who also identify as LGBTQIA+ are more likely to report poor mental health compared to autistic adults who aren't?

🏳️‍🌈We want ZOOP, Wirral's Autism Hub to be a safe space for all 🏳️‍⚧️ So, we're celebrating Autism Pride Day at this month's Coffee and Create session, exploring the theme of autistic masking and being our authentic selves. Open to anyone, aged 18+, self-identifying, pre- or post- autism diagnosis.

COFFEE & CREATE @ ZOOP��

This month at ZOOP we are launching our Coffee and Create Sessions so you can have your say on ZOOP.�

These sessions will be a space for meeting other autistic adults to share experiences, get creative and shape Wirral's brand new Autism Hub. The first Coffee and Create will be held at the Bloom Building on the 15th April 11:30am-12:30pm.

Are you coming to our last free creative workshop of 2024?

LoC - a partnership from Open Door Charity and Convenience Gallery - has had a great year, offering the opportunity for 11-19s to learn and work with artists in loads of different disciplines...
..and we've got one more before the year's out!

This Thursday, 12th December, join us for 'What's Weighing on You' with Lydia O'Hara - an introduction to creating objects and sculpture with readymades and how to add personal narratives, stories and context to the objects.

You'll learn how assembling different objects can be used as artistic expression, while looking through the different weights we all carry, and how they can be expressed in a positive way.

Want to join us for our next free creative workshop?

On Thursday, 5th December - alongside artist Parice Bowyer - learn how to create button badges, 35mm slides, and posters, either taking the time to focus on one or two areas, or having a go at it all!

Participants can also choose to be part of Parice's next project - a body of work inspired by old art exhibition ephemera such as posters, postcards, and information flyers, documenting a mix of real and fabricated personal and collective memories.

Open to all ages 11-19.

We're getting festive for one of our favourite monthly events - Toddler Takeover!
