Parents and event organisers …. Let’s talk about something that isn’t sparkly, but absolutely matters. 🎨✨
🧪 Why Compliance in Face Painting Matters
When you book a professional face painter, you’re not just paying for pretty butterflies and roaring tigers. You’re trusting someone to put products on skin. Often children’s skin.
That’s not a hobby-level responsibility. That’s professional-level responsibility.
Here’s what that means in real life 👇
✅ We Check That The Products We Use Are Legally Allowed for Cosmetic Use:
In the UK, cosmetic products must comply with UK Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (as retained in UK law).
That means:
• Ingredients must be permitted for cosmetic use
• Certain pigments must appear on approved lists
• Products must be correctly labelled
• A “Responsible Person” must be identified
If a product can’t demonstrate that? It doesn’t go near my kit.
📄 We Expect Proper Documentation:
Professional face paint brands should have:
• A Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR)
• A Product Information File (PIF)
• Registration on the UK cosmetic portal
• Safety Data Sheets that actually match the product
If someone selling paints can’t evidence compliance, that’s a red flag for me 🚩
🚫 “It’s Fine, Everyone Uses It” Isn’t Good Enough
Trends come and go. Cheap imports appear online (as below from Temu, Amazon and a Chinese wholesale dealer). Rebranded import products pop up all the time.
But as a professional, I don’t rely on popularity. I rely on evidence. Because if something goes wrong, “I saw it on TikTok” is not a defence.
🎨 Why This Matters To You?:
When you hire a professional face painter, you should expect:
• Fully insured
• Proper hygiene procedures
• Skin-safe, compliant cosmetic products
• Traceable suppliers
• Clear labelling
You are not just booking entertainment.
You are booking someone to apply regulated cosmetic products to skin.
That comes with standards.
And as a professional, I take that seriously.
Because safety is non-negotiable. ✨💛
If you ever have questions about the products being used at your party or event, you should feel comfortable asking.
Aa a professional,I will always be happy to explain.
Shared but 100% my stance
