Yesterday's wedding was mervilleux!! Arielle and Laurent travelled from France with their four children and married at the Old Gunpowder ruins in Roslin Glen. The ceremony was completely in French, with the most beautiful heartfelt vows from Arielle and Laurent, and lovely speeches from each of the children.
We had a six-way handfasting, and despite not having a quaich or any whisky, we toasted their union with that traditional Scottish drink, the water of life from the river, drunk from a silver engraved Police Scotland badge kindly provided by John the piper. Thank you John!

Thanks to Alysa from Wildling Weddings who, as always, had arranged the most magical day for them, and who will no doubt have better photographs than me!

Such a lovely happy fun day yesterday when Anna and Mark tied the knot in my wee conservatory. Just the two of them, two witnesses (who both cried, although the happy couple didn't), and me. And Lizzie Longlegs the dog. I love Anna's expression as she signs one of the most important pieces of paper in her life - 'this is a very serious thing I'm doing' - and Mark's expression as he signs one of the most important pieces of paper in his life - 'Eeek'!
This lovely couple made their own wedding rings, a beautiful special touch.
Their new family will be complete in a couple of months when their wee one joins them. It's quite a year for them ...

I am so looking forward to tomorrow, when my wee conservatory becomes the venue for its second wedding ... Just polishin...

Today's office is the fabulous Cornhill Castle, which is 2 miles away - one of my favorite venues. They've just upgraded the wedding pavilion, which looks amazing, and I've been having a sneaky peek at the bridal suite too - don't you love the wine cellar right at the top of the turret? Each bottle has a message from all the couples who got married here!
