Yesterday I had the honour of officiating a funeral service for a much loved lady at the Chapel Room at Unsworth Funeral Directors in Bridlington.
The floral tributes were stunning, we were able to take a little more time over the service, and afterwards everyone had a tot of Baileys whilst the family toasted their mother/ grandmother/ sister/ friend. Unsworth Funeral Service were very accommodating, as always, as the service was live streamed on YouTube ( a first for me).
Thank you to this lovely family for allowing me to share picture of their flowers, and for giving me a floral tribute to take home as a thank you .

Thank you to Lelley Fields Crematorium for organising a superb seminar this week, aimed at individuals and companies working in the funeral industry.

There were some excellent speakers, knowledgeable panelist's, and an array of useful stands/ companies and ideas to support us to support our client group.

The networking opportunities were excellent and I particularly enjoyed learning more about Association of Independent Celebrants and Dove House Hospice.

The venue was excellent and amazing team at Lelley Fields went above and beyond, as they always do.

It was also a pleasure to connect with colleagues: Funeral Celebrant Sheenagh, Louise Mcphee, Kate Bowers, Hannah Rose Funeral Services

📣 Professional Practice Seminar – Next Week
Next week we’ll be hosting a Professional Practice Seminar for professionals working with bereaved families, including funeral directors, celebrants, care home teams, medical professionals, and others involved in end‑of‑life and after‑death care.
The session is designed to support shared learning, best practice, and collaborative working, with space for discussion, reflection, and professional networking across services.
Attendees are very welcome to join us for the full day or for part of the day, whichever suits them best.
Although this event is for professionals, we want our wider community to be aware of the work taking place behind the scenes — promoting high standards, partnership working, and continuous improvement in the care and support we provide to families.

I did not know that April was stress awareness month...a poignant reminder for us all to slow down, take stock, and listen to our inner voice. Let's be as kind to ourselves as we are to others, and this event at Lelley Fields Crematorium promises to support us with doing just that 💖

April is Stress Awareness Month. It’s observed across the UK every April to build understanding of what stress is, how it affects us, and practical ways to reduce it.

When someone dies, stress can show up as foggy thinking, poor sleep, tight timelines and unfamiliar decisions. If that’s you, please know it’s a natural response to loss and you don’t have to cope alone. Our team can slow things down, explain each step, and help you find a calmer pace.

🗓 Save the date: Projecting Grief pop‑up, Saturday 25 April 2026, 11am–4pm, Lelley Fields - a gentle space to reflect, view a photography exhibition about creativity and loss, and try a supportive journalling workshop. Free event — donations welcome.
