OK then, time for two different versions of the same song on Beverley FM in '𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲'.

Today's song was originally written and recorded by husband and wife duo Sonny & Cher, and was the first single taken from their debut album. It went to the top of the charts in the last week in August 1965, staying there for two weeks.

Fast-forward exactly 20 years and Birmingham band UB40 teamed up with Pretenders lead singer Chrissie Hynde to record a reggae version of the song, which also reached number one in the charts in the last week in August of 1985.

• The lead singer of the band was married to Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders when this song came out, and later married actress Patsy Kensit

We have a double celebration as two members of German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk celebrate their birthdays today. Fritz Hilpert is 70, while bandmate Karl Bartos is 74. Additionally Steve White, drummer with The Style Council celebrates his 61st birthday.

OK then, time for two different versions of the same song on Beverley FM in '𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲'.

Today's song was originally written and recorded in 1983 by American rock band Talking Heads. Despite becoming a top ten hit in the USA, Canada and New Zealand, it was never actually a hit single in the UK.

Fast-forward 16 years and Welsh singing superstar Tom Jones, teamed up with the Swedish rock band The Cardigans for his collaborations album Reaload. They re-imagined, re-recorded and re-released the song, taking it to number seven in the UK charts towards the end of 1999.

It also topped the charts in 33 other countries around the world
• It was originally written with Little Mix in mind, but half-way through the writing process it was decided the song would be written for Rihanna. Eventually the singer decided that the song was so good, he should keep it and record it himself
• The song ensured the singer became the first artist in UK history to debut at both number one and number two on the charts simultaneously, after this, and another song from his album “Divide” were both released on the same day
