Nominated for a BBC POPCORN NEW WRITING AWARD, this Dahl-esque treat from FLADAM (Flo Poskitt & Adam Sowter) and Ben Tansey, has been delighting audiences around the country (including a joyous run at GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2024). Packed full of catchy songs, puppetry and laughs-a-plenty, Green Fingers is a show for anyone that’s ever felt a bit different.

An Introduction to Willow Weaving… Swallows and Swifts
Using soaked willow, and a simple basketry technique, Anna will guide you through the process of creating a swallow or swift wall sculpture

This play portrays the human interest behind the battle of Flodden from both sides, and its impact on a small Northumbrian community. Featuring traditional songs performed by Tribe, a local acapella group.

Thank you to our fantastic participants who joined us here at TSY for the first in this series of creative workshops.
This fantastic evening was lead by the brilliant Jennie Howes who guided, supported and inspired with her Introduction to Freestyle Embroidery Workshop.
As well as a brilliant creative session, each guest was welcomed with a refreshing cocktail, as well as a variety of nibbles during their break.
The Straw Yard Team loved seeing all of the smiling faces at the end of a successful creative workshop.

A BEGINNERS GUIDE TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ACCENTS & DIALECTS with Hilary Jones
Sunday 28th June
A one-day workshop for aspiring actors, born Mimics and anyone fascinated by the human voice
Hilary has taught generations of actors at some of the UK’s most prestigious drama schools and was, for many years, the specialist dialect coach and lecturer in Voice for Media at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She has worked on countless productions across theatre, radio, opera, musicals, TV (Waterloo Road, Case Histories).and film (including The Wife for which Glenn Close won her 2019 Golden Globe)
Her most recent work includes Mull Theatre’s Night Waking, Channel 4’s Big Mood, Richard Gadd’s Half Man – currently airing on BBC 1 and the upcoming audio drama ‘Libra’ which will be broadcast on Radio 4 on the 9th and 16th of August.
