Aston Villa's season kicks off today away at Brighton. Having sold Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans, Donyal Malen and Lucas Digne while picking up absolute donkeys like Garnacho & Wan-Bissaka... I can't say I'm overly excited.

As always though... "In Emery We Trust" and hopefully we'll get a good result. Paddy Power have got Brighton as favourites so I really hope we turn them over.

Onwards. Up The Villa!

Today SarahJames and I visited the writing shed, home and grave of the poet Dylan Thomas. I’ve always been incredible struck by his work, particularly “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” and “Death Shall Have No Dominion”.
His turns of phrase are almost violently expressive and prove that hearts can truly be moved with words alone.

To stand in his living room and peer through the window of spaces where he dreamt such inflammatory sentences like “when the bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone” or “old age should burn and rave at close of day”, the latter being about the hope that his father would give greater fight in the refusal to die, was truly a thrill.

If you’re ever in the Carmarthenshire/Tenby area this is well worth a visit. We also had a great lunch in the “Owl & The Pussycat” cafe. Named after the Edward Lear poem that Sarah and I had read by my friend John at our wedding. Great day!
