Following complaints about fireworks at the hall we would like to issue this statement .

Whilst our booking conditions do not state fireworks are not allowed, it would be impossible to list everything that could be cause of complaint by anyone in the local area.

The sale and setting off of fireworks in the UK is legal and also a UK tradition. Some people like them and some don’t.

Despite our efforts, we cannot control every person using the hall own personal preferences as to how they choose to celebrate family occasions, especially when this is not at a time deemed unsociable hours.

From a safety point of view however, We will add it to our booking information for future to ensure risk of damage or fire of surrounding areas are protected. In 13 years it has never been an issue and are sure it is an isolated incident.

Kind regards

ROOKERY VIEW HALL.

The summer holidays lent themselves to some hard graft by our volunteers to wrap up our landscaping project, kindly funded by the National Lottery Awards for all. Improved pedestrian paved areas along with the new steps up to the activity cabin were essential improvements to improve safety and access for users. Thank you to the lottery for funding and the volunteers for giving up their time

New Management- Canvey Jubilee Hall!

We are delighted to announce the Trustees of Rookery View Hall have taken over the management of Canvey Jubilee Hall. An afternoon tea for hall users, previous committee members and volunteers was hosted yesterday where previous Trustees Ray Howard and Tanis Wakefield officially handed over the keys.

We thanked everyone for their dedicated hard work and our excitement about being able to offer more community facilities in Castle Point.

We were also delighted Ray Howard accepted position as Honorary President and are grateful for his continued experience.

A new website, social media pages and booking pages will launch soon and we look forward to upgrading the property for use by the community

Previous members have progressed on to Trinity Conservatoire of Music, Colchester Institute of Music, Royal School of Music, Royal Navy, Canterbury University etc. All these wonderful people come back to instruct and share their skill.
