Warning to dog owners: A dog was attacked this morning at Shoebury East beach, leaving the pet with at least six teeth puncture wounds which required emergency treatment.

The owner of the dog that was attacked is now appealing for the owner of the other dog to come forward and cover the vet bill.

Chris Endicott said: “My dog Dave was attacked by a dog called Diesel this morning on East Beach just after 6am. The owner said it was the first time, and I will take her word that her dog had a bad day. I'm not looking for a witch-hunt but would appreciate the owner covering the £430 vet bill.”

He added: “This is the second time in a week where I've had to pull a dog off him and neither had a collar to grab hold of. If you can all share and get the other dogs owners’ attention it would be appreciated.”
