KEATON AT THE QUEENS.
Hodson and Minion present a cinematic and musical celebration of the great Buster Keaton.
Before the days of wide screen, CGI, Dolby sound or even colour, silent movies weaved their own magic and who better to exemplify this than 'Old Stone Face' himself, the king of silent comedy.
This show at The Queens Head, Belper,8.00pm on September 9 will feature excerpts of his finest work accompanied by Mr John Hodson on the pianoforte and Mr Andy Minion on spoken words and sound effects.
Admission at the box office is £6.

As part of the Larks in the Park season, this internationally acclaimed blues outfit will be playing for free thanks to Belper Town Council.
They are quite simply our finest blues band so don't miss them.
It's still a free gig but please donate to Hope for Belper,our local food bank and to the Belper Welcomes Refugees project.

Question: who ( as far as I know) is the only UK songwriter to have recorded a song about local legend,Dennis Skinner ?
The answer is of course........

Robb returns to Belper with his customary caustic wit tempered with compassion and hope.

Songs like 'Another Train' have propelled Pete Morton far beyond the folk circuit and into the lives of music lovers internationally .
New song 'Under the Yemeni Moon' is the first I have heard to deal both honestly and passionately with the forgotten war.
Pete Castle on the other hand has long been one of our most respected interpreters of traditional lore and music. Catch them both here but remember that capacity is limited because of covid guidelines. Let's practice safe music and have a great night !
