We're back at 28 Laughs on 17th October, and our headline act is the fantastic SUSAN MURRAY!
Susan Murray built her name the hard way, gigging relentlessly on the circuit under the stage name Harpie before settling into the sharp, warm, thoroughly honest style she's known for today.
She won the first ever Jongleurs new act competition, has written for BBC Radio 4's The Now Show and Newsjack and Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats, and became the first woman to MC Decompression gigs for the British Army and CSE.
Her club and festival work has taken her from Glastonbury and Download to gigs as far afield as Dubai, Qatar and China. Sharp, versatile, and reliably funny wherever she's booked.

Sessions are FREE to attend but booking is recommended.
Join us once a month for a relaxing evening getting creative, expressing yourself and connecting with others.
Our monthly group is an opportunity to take some time out, explore your creativity, and express your thoughts, feelings and ideas around themes related to mental health and wellbeing.
These sessions are for you if:
- You need a wellbeing boost
- You are struggling with your mental health
- You want a space to reflect and express yourself
- You enjoy being creative
- You don't think you are creative but would like to try something new
- You'd like to meet other people from the local community
Each session there is a theme that we will all explore using the creative materials provided. These will normally include pens, pencils, pastels, and a range of collage materials. No art experience or skill is needed. It's all about expressing yourself, there's no right or wrong.
The sessions are run by trained facilitators who are there to support you.
The sessions are available to all adults 18+

TODAY! PRINT FAIR & FARMERS MARKET CAFE THIS MORNING - OPEN UNTIL 2PM
It's the 4th Annual Belper Print Fair and exhibition! Thanks as ever to the wonderful organiser, Crich/Wirksworth printmaker Peter Knight.
The PRINT FAIR itself takes place alongside our monthly No28 Farmer’s Market Cafe for the extended timing of 9am-2pm. The seven exhibiting printmakers will be displaying and selling their work... cards and prints, framed and unframed. It is so good to see again such a diversity of style, subject matter and technique and all from local artists of exceptional quality.
In the CAFE we will be selling our usual freshly-made cafetiere coffee, teas, light lunches and cakes from the Creative Kitchen and the Loaf.

What happens when the spirit of New Orleans meets the storytelling traditions of West Africa? Gwyn Jay Allen has the answer. This travelling troubadour brings stories from a rich diasporic experience, weaving gospel-tinged jazz with raw, rhythmic storytelling in an unforgettable night of music.
Allen joins award-winning pianist and composer Alex Wilson for I Love Louis, a vibrant musical journey through the life and music of jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Collaborating since the 1990s, the duo blend electrifying jazz performance with storytelling, from The New Orleans Jazz Experience in Zürich to acclaimed performances in Melbourne and New York.
Allen has portrayed Armstrong with the BBC Concert Orchestra and BBC Big Band at the London Palladium and performed at the Louis Armstrong House Museum. This new show goes deeper, revealing the man behind the smile while tracing jazz's extraordinary journey from Africa to New Orleans and back again, celebrating Armstrong's timeless songs and enduring global legacy.
