Here’s an interview that Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub did on BBC Radio Scotland. He gives a lovely shoutout to what I’m trying to do at Bellshill Cultural Centre alongside my dear friend and head of events at NLC, Craig Smart. Both of us are trying to to exactly what Norman is calling for, Local Councils and local promoters coming together and utilizing the arts centres all over Scotland for the benefit of local communities and bringing much needed grassroot venues to every small town and village. Everyone deserves and needs the arts for their mental health and wellbeing. Thanks Norman. 🙏🏻

Doors for tonight’s Bellbeat Presents show open at 7pm for tonight’s James Grant show at Bellshill Cultural Centre.

James is onstage at 7:30pm and will be performing 2 sets over the evening. The show is completely sold out there are no tickets to purchase at the door.

Last night at Bellshill Cultural Centre a truly amazing night of music took place. BMX Bandits, who I’ve seen perform many times over the 45 years I’ve known Duglas, were on truly mesmeric form. It was joyous, beautiful, emotional, a performance of the highest musicianship. I’d go as far as to say it’s in my top five live shows I’ve ever been to. To say I was lucky to be present, to promote this show, is an understatement. The Cords!! I just adore them. They are everything I love about music. Simple 2 min pop songs, I don’t think so. Eva and Grace songs are so cleverly crafted they sound simple, sounding simple is the part of songwriting craft that can’t be taught, this comes from the heart and soul of the writers and The Cords have it in abundance. There wasn’t a face I saw in the packed venue that wasn’t smiling, crying, singing every word. As Franki Valli said “ oh what a night” and what a night it was. A night that’ll last long in the memory. Mesmeric!!!!
