OBSIDIAN is a large-scale, site-specific installation by Aoife Dunne, produced by DAS Belfast and presented within the historic Riddel’s Warehouse. Tuesday 4th - Saturday 8th November 2025, 4-8pm.

Aoife Dunne will discuss her multidisciplinary practice, which merges sculpture, video, sound, performance, and digital installation to explore the shifting boundaries between the physical and virtual. Reflecting on her background and career to date, the talk will trace the evolution of her immersive practice and introduce her new site-specific exhibition OBSIDIAN at Riddel’s Warehouse, offering deeper insight into the conceptual and material processes that define her work.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund have announced funding for new Heritage Places, including Belfast's Historic Waterfront! This is the next chapter of a 10-year journey to help places thrive by connecting communities to the heritage on their doorstep.

Together, they will share in a £200million investment aimed at unlocking the potential of heritage to boost local economies and pride in place.

We can't wait to see what this investment brings to Belfast's Historic Waterfront and surrounding heritage sites.

We are proud to announce that European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) 2025 was officially launched by Communities Minister Gordon Lyons at our iconic Riddel’s Warehouse in Belfast.

The Minister’s attendance highlights the Department for Communities’ strong support for cultural heritage and public engagement. In his remarks, he emphasised the importance of celebrating local stories, historic places, and shared spaces that connect communities across Northern Ireland.

Riddel’s Warehouse, a significant industrial landmark, provided a powerful backdrop for the event, echoing EHOD’s mission to unlock access to hidden and meaningful heritage sites.

EHOD 2025, taking place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September, is themed “Architectural Heritage - Past Structures, Future Connections.” The programme invites the public to explore hundreds of historic venues, many of which are not normally open to visitors.

Whether you're interested in guided tours, re-enactments, open buildings, family activities, or storytelling, EHOD offers something for everyone, and all events are free to attend.

The series follows Jo (Katherine Kelly) a flight attendant who goes to dangerous criminal lengths to save her son after he’s imprisoned for a crime he swears he didn’t commit.

This year, there are over 230 openers and events planned for EHOD weekend on the 13 - 14 September 2025. The events range from exhibitions to tours and talks of historic buildings and much more. The theme this year is ‘Architectural Heritage: Past Structures, Future Connections’ and will engage both visitors and event organisers with the history, design, and cultural significance of Northern Ireland’s architectural landmarks.

Much of the success of EHOD is due to the efforts of our volunteers who take on a range of duties from meeting and greeting visitors to assisting with tours. Previous volunteers have said they gained so much from the experience and enjoyed the various aspects especially interacting with visitors and being to help in many ways.
