With less than a month to go before delivering this exciting new event to what was hopefully going to be a sold-out run, I have to regrettably temporarily close WedTalks so that we can play our part in the slowing down the spread of COVID 19 and keep following the government guidelines of no public gatherings.
Is it possible that this hugely disorientating and challenging upheaval we’re all now navigating, separating ourselves off from each other on a local and global scale, will actually bridge some of the distances between us in the long run? Weddings are exciting, magical, celebratory and breathtaking. Above all, it brings us together in the most empathetic and comforting way and a wedding is itself a beacon of hope, wisdom, solidarity and optimism.
In other words, WedTalks is exactly what we need more than ever right now and my sadness at dimming the lights is immense.
Here at WedTalks we promise to do everything possible to maintain some kind of meaningful connection with our happy couples and suppliers during this time and, with the help of our extraordinary staff, supporters and suppliers, I know that we'll be back, as strong and feisty as ever, before too long.
Let’s all focus on coming through this separation with our togetherness intact. Even strengthened. Take care of yourselves and each other. Be creative. There’s going to be some great weddings on the other side.
I’ll meet you there.
