Incredible amount of forces via the ground and how it helps the golf swing actually be a functional golf swing. This is only a pitching wedge swing at minimal effort and while yes I may be getting older, without the rotational (due to the forces pushing back from the ground) the forward swing is a real effort and quite awkward. You can see here how ‘square my hips are’. I am amazed how forward (towards the ball) the left foot pushes in transition and you can really see it here.

All in a weeks work. From short game on grass, to long game outside and then getting dialled in on the indoor studio: have all the facilities a golfer could ever need. The studio is available to use for both members and members. The rest of the facilities are for members only.

Some images that you would get any indoor golf lessons. keeps getting better and better.

in excellent condition last night for a few holes. Greens were amazing. Maybe 10 or 11 on the stimp? Nice to play in the sunshine again. Some big changes incoming at Edenmore. It’s going to be a cracker. 👏

P1 – Address

Robert starts in a solid, athletic setup. His posture is clean, with soft knees and a slight spine tilt away from the target. Hands are directly under the shoulders, and his arms hang naturally. You can see early signs of pressure balanced evenly across both feet—he looks ready to move.

P2 – Club parallel to the ground

As he starts the backswing, the club moves smoothly away with everything working together. His hands, arms, and body are in sync. The clubface stays square, and the pressure begins to shift slightly into the right foot—mostly towards the inside of the right heel.

P3 – Lead arm parallel to the ground

His body continues to turn beautifully, with his chest rotating over the right leg. The wrists begin to set the club upward. Pressure is now clearly building into the trail foot. His sequencing is textbook—arms stay in front of the chest, and there’s no rushing.

P4 – Top of backswing

At the top, Robert is fully coiled with a wide arc and great width. His left arm stays across his chest while his hips remain braced. There’s a slight stretch between his upper and lower body, storing energy. Pressure is loaded into the trail hip and inside right foot—he’s loaded but not swayed.

P5 – Transition

This is where Rock really shines. The lower body leads—hips bump slightly forward and rotate while the upper body stays back. Pressure shifts decisively into the lead foot, especially the lead heel. This is perfect sequencing: ground first, then torso, then arms, then club.

P6 – Club parallel on downswing

As the club shallows, his trail elbow slots tightly, and the club head stays behind his hands. The pressure is now well into the lead foot and he’s rotating hard around it. His chest is starting to open but still behind the ball. The transition from storing to delivering is smooth. …

Athletic, balanced setup. Slight knee flex, spine tilted slightly right. Hands just ahead of the ball, with neutral shaft lean. Feet flared appropriately for rotation.

P2 – Club Parallel (Takeaway)

Clubhead outside the hands. Face angle square to spine. Hands stay close to the body, suggesting a connected, one-piece takeaway. Core and ribcage rotating early.

P3 – Lead Arm Parallel

Club shaft slightly above the toe line, showing width and structure. Trail arm beginning to fold. Core-driven movement — wrists passive so far.

P4 – Top of Backswing

Full shoulder turn with minimal hip sway. Trail leg holds structure. Club across the line slightly, face a touch closed. Wrists fully hinged — lots of stored energy.

P5 – Lead Arm Parallel in Downswing

Hands shallow behind the chest. Club trailing, in a strong delivery slot. Hips beginning to open while head remains stable. Excellent shaft angle into transition.

P6 – Club Parallel Pre-Impact

Club on-plane. Trail elbow tight and working in front of the body. Left wrist flat, face square. Lower body leading, upper body resisting — classic “X-factor unwind.”

P7 – Impact

Strong position. Hips open, chest slightly open, head steady. Lead leg braced, trail heel beginning to release. Hands ahead of the ball with shaft lean. Ball compressed.

P8 – Early Extension (Post-Impact)

Arms extending down the target line. Club face beginning to rotate. Right shoulder moving under, not over. Excellent balance through strike.

P9 – Shaft Parallel After Impact

Club exiting low and left, matching the swing arc. Balanced rotation, wrists beginning to rehinge. Torso fully rotated, weight fully on lead side.

P10 – Finish

Full, balanced finish. Chest facing target, belt buckle left of target. Trail foot up, spine extended. A classic tour-style end position.

Enjoyable day yesterday at . Course is great order and given it was very windy it was a very good test of iron play and ball flight. Nice to play the second 18 holes of 2025… maybe I will play again someday.

Some upgrades. From down and across to up and out. Amazing changes. All from one simple thought. Anyone guess what it was?
