It was such a joy to attend the Acosta Dance Foundation Summer Intensive 2026 Showcase today, celebrating the culmination of their two-week intensive.

The standard of technique, artistry and choreography was beautiful, with work from an incredible faculty including:
Caridad Martinez
Cuca Pon
Luis Mariano Nápoles
Luanda Pau and
Aydmara Cabrera
Javier de Frutos
alongside live musicians and percussionists.

A special moment for me was seeing Amelia Lamour who was awarded the two-week Acosta scholarship at the National Performance Awards in Belfast, performing today.

I am incredibly grateful to the Acosta centre and Javier Torres for providing such a valuable opportunity for one of our young performers.

It was also wonderful to see Amelia working with Javier de Frutos, who I had the pleasure of working with twice during my own career as a dancer — with English National Opera and his Olivier award winning Cabaret in London’s West End.
A lovely full-circle moment.

Congratulations Aydmara and to the entire faculty, creative team, musicians and dancers on a truly beautiful Summer Intensive.

I absolutely loved it.🥰
