✨ Pearls & Pins at Shuttleworth House today! ✨

It’s such a lovely feeling when a booking that started a whole year ago finally arrives at the big day! 💍🤍

Today we’re at the beautiful Shuttleworth House for a very special wedding. The bride and her two bridesmaids have all had their alterations completed by Pearls & Pins, and today we’re back for the Silver Dressing Package to make sure everyone is looking and feeling their absolute best. ✨

And because we like to keep busy… we’ve even carried out alterations on a second dress onsite today! 👗✂️

✨ From alterations to being part of the wedding day 🤍

Lauren’s wedding dress journey didn’t exactly get off to the easiest start…

She was originally sold the incorrect underpinnings for her dress, and because she’s petite through the body, we had some fit issues to overcome. But this is exactly why professional alterations are so important — it’s about making the dress work beautifully for you.

For Lauren, we:
✂️ Added invisible darts to perfect the fit through the bodice
✂️ Removed the horsehair hem to create a softer finish
✂️ Shortened and re-hemmed all layers of the dress
✂️ Added a bustle at the back for comfort and ease throughout the day

And it didn’t stop there…

Lauren’s five beautiful bridesmaids all came to me for their alterations too. We redesigned elements of the bodices, repositioned straps and created even, beautifully finished hems from dresses that arrived with some rather uneven lengths.

I also had the absolute pleasure of altering both the Mother of the Bride and Grandmother of the Bride’s dresses. 🤍

One of my favourite things about bridal alterations is the relationship you build along the way. You see each other again and again — fitting after fitting — and gradually, you become a small part of this incredibly special chapter of their lives.

So when Lauren’s wedding day arrived, it felt very special to be there for her.

For Lauren, I provided my Bronze Dressing Package, bringing everything needed to support the bridal party getting ready — from sewing and emergency repair equipment to the steamer and all those little things you never know you might need until you do!

Because my role doesn’t just have to be about the dress.
It’s about making sure the bride, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen and wider wedding party feel supported, comfortable and completely looked after.

From that stressful first fitting to seeing Lauren dressed and ready to walk down the aisle…

Some keepsakes mean more than words can say. 🤍

This special pair of bridal shoe memory charms was created for a bride who lost her dad before her wedding day. One charm holds a treasured photo of him with her as a baby, while the other captures a precious memory of the two of them as she’s growing up.

Although he can’t be there in person, he’ll still be with her every step of the way. A quiet reminder that love never leaves us, and in a small but meaningful way, he’ll be walking his daughter down the aisle.
