** CEREMONY 6.5 LINE-UP **

Time to confirm the full line-up for Ceremony 6.5, which takes place on Saturday 30th January 2027, and will be headlined by the mighty OPUS KINK. This post punk, gothic jazz collective have just released their excellent debut album ‘The Sweet Goodbye’ and will be returning to Esquires after a European tour in November which will see them playing venues like the 2,300 capacity Kentish Town Forum. A brilliantly brooding live act, Opus Kink have all sold their souls in order to produce a feverish, danceable noise which features both horns and the dark romanticism of Angus Rogers' lyrics. We are absolutely delighted to welcome
them back to their spiritual home. For fans of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Fat White Family.

Judging by the number of T-shirts (and the odd tattoo) we see at the venue every week, a large proportion of you will be absolutely delighted to learn that the brilliant GANS will also be appearing. Over the past 3 years, the Birmingham noiseniks have not so quietly become one of the UK’s best live acts. A maelstrom of electronica, techno beats and industrial strength rock, you might have caught them over the summer blowing the roof off tents at festivals like Truck, Deer Shed and End of the Road.

We're also extremely excited for you all to witness much talked about goth revivalists MOUTH ULCERS, the ‘always dancey, always loud, always sexy’ buzz band Bathing Suits (think Crystal Castles covering Nine Inch Nails!), and London’s TOOTH will be reducing 6Music Dads to tears with their emotionally charged, nineties influenced rock. Across the day you’ll also hear current radio favourites (and labelmates of Westside Cowboy), Pyncher, the psychedelic dreampop of IMISSMYMOM, the visceral punk poetry of Leed’s The 113 and the melodic indie-pop of Manchester’s Lydia Prettyman (originally from Bedford).

Completing the line-up are Voka Gentle, a band that blew us away at Rockaway Beach back in January and draw on influences that span avant-garde pop and alternative rock, the London-based trio are known for transforming unconventional ideas into catchy, immersive compositions. Something for everyone then.

British grunge-rock-metal powerhouses Dinosaur Pile-Up have announced their highly anticipated March 2027 UK headline tour.
Following the release of their acclaimed 5th full-length album, I've Felt Better, in August 2025, Dinosaur Pile-Up have had one hell of a year. The band stormed through a sold-out UK headline tour, a major US support tour alongside A Day To Remember, selective Warped Tour appearances, and their own East Coast US headline run. On the festival circuit, they delivered a windswept set at Rock For People before pulling packed-out crowds at both Download Festival 2026 and 2000 Trees 2026.

Pleased to announce 2 shows with folk legend Eliza Carthy & The Restitution at Club 85 Hitchin on Fri 12th Feb and Bedford Esquires on Sat 20th Feb.

Describing herself simply as a “modern English musician”, Eliza Carthy is one of the most recognisable faces of the English folk revival, and over her 35-year illustrious career, remains one of the most original and engaging performers of her generation.
Eliza Carthy has earned an MBE, two Mercury Prize nominations and a plethora of other accolades. She has toured all over the world; danced with Hugh Masekela in Ghana; crossed the Prairies, the Alps, and the waters of Lake Titicaca, all for the sake of playing the fiddle and spreading the word of English traditional music.

Her touring band, The Restitution, is a dynamic force of contemporary folk musicians, featuring Dave Delarre (guitars), Ben Seal (bass), Phil Alexander (piano), and W***y Molleson (drums), and together, they create an exciting and captivating musical experience.

A fusion of 1960s garage rock, freak-beat, raw blues, and spacey funk rhythms the bands new album 'Gravity Freeze' dropped earlier this year to rave reviews....
Such is Barrie's guitar pedigree he has recently had stints playing for Liam Gallagher, Primal Scream, Paul Weller, Morrisey, Edwyn Collins & THE THE.

Altered Images are heading to Esquires on Saturday 23rd January as part of an intimate run of shows!

Altered Images—one of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK post-punk and new wave scenesl The band became one of the early ’80s defining acts, scoring a string of chart successes including “Don’t Talk to Me About Love,” “I Could Be Happy,” “Happy Birthday,” “See Those Eyes,” “Pinky Blue,” and “Bring Me Closer.” Following her breakthrough with Altered Images, Grogan became a familiar face on screen, most notably starring in the cult-classic film Gregory’s Girl and later taking on roles across television drama and comedy. As an author she has written several successful children’s books.

With a setlist that spans shimmering pop anthems, post punk classics, fan favourites, and timeless singles, each show promises a vibrant celebration of the band’s lasting impact and the unique voice Clare Grogan continues to bring to British music.

The Wildhearts return to Oxford for the first time in over two decades!

Few bands deliver rock ’n’ roll chaos with the consistency, heart and sheer melodic punch of The Wildhearts, with this show being the first time the band has played in Oxford in over twenty years! Led by the indefatigable Ginger Wildheart, the band remain a force of nature: riffs stacked like tower blocks, choruses built to be shouted back, and that unmistakable fusion of punk energy, metal bite and power‑pop sparkle that no one else has ever quite replicated.

For almost 2 decades The Wildhearts have remained at the forefront of the British rock scene. From their classic début album Earth Vs (voted number one album of the year in Kerrang! Back in 1993, and number 20 in the best rock albums of all time in a Kerrang! Special in 2006), through to 2007’s self titled record (10/10 Rocksound, 5/5 The Sun), their creative output and legendary live shows have been second to none.

The March Violets bring their gothic rock / post-punk reverb drenched atmospheric sound to Esquires this November.

The original 1984 album, reissued for the first time since the 1980's – in violet vinyl. Comes with a “US Zillion $ Bill”; a 24-inch x 12-inch poster with lyrics on the rear – as did limited quantities of the original. Features Snake Dance, Religious as Hell, Crow Baby and two John Peel session tracks. The reformed band have toured the UK, Europe & USA. 16 UK gigs & festivals are scheduled for summer 2026. THE MARCH VIOLETS came out of Leeds in the early 80’s, label-mates of Sisters of Mercy. Releasing six singles, they were a constant presence in the UK indie charts, hitting the top two with both Snake Dance and Deep, and no. 1 with Walk into The Sun. They didn’t get around to recording a full album – their only 1980's LPs, 'Natural History' in the UK and 'Electric Shades' in the USA, were compilations.

They were invited to record six BBC Sessions, three of them for John Peel (all available as a double-LP). Eventually they signed to a major label and were groomed for a USA breakthrough, performing in the 1987 Some Kind of Wonderful movie. However, they didn’t enjoy the compromises needed and split up. Reformed in recent years, a new album Crocodile Promises was issued in 2024 and more recordings are under way.

Liverpool sextet Red Rum Club continue their upward curve, charging into 2026 with relentless momentum and a sound that’s become unmistakably their own, bold, brass-fueled, and bursting with ambition.
