Is cow parsley alone a good enough reason to plan a May wedding?

🙋🏻‍♀️ I think so!

I know it grows on the verges, so some may turn their noses up at its wild or common nature, but it’s just so delicate & pretty, with such height and movement.

Living in a countryside village, it’s absolutely everywhere at the moment and I am unapologetically obsessed. It makes every drive so much more joyful.

Cow parsley aside, the British seasonal blooms - and foliage - of May are just some of the best. We can’t shout enough about using locally grown, in-season flowers. Especially when you’re getting married in an outdoor setting, it’s all just going to ‘fit-in’ so beautifully 🌱🤍

Springtime Inspiration 🌱🤍

When we started planning the spring open day for I knew exactly what design I wanted to create in a venue that I know so well.

May at the Lakeside is countryside perfection. Fresh and dreamy, full of vibrant green spring leaves, delicate cow parsley, pillowy white & peach hawthorn blossom and, to top it off, the seed heads of the willow that create natures own confetti as the wind gently blows it across the meadow.

The Lakeside open day had to take inspiration from its own stunning natural beauty, and I wanted to create something that felt seamless within its setting.

White & Greens with a hint of soft peach. Natural materials. Seasonal British greenery and blooms. A statement tablescape that stood out, yet from certain aspects almost blended into its environment. Seeing it come to life was magnificent.

BANQUETING STYLE 🤍

Those long rows of tables are the most popular choice for our marquee weddings, but why do couples love them?

• Inclusive – no isolated groups, just one shared experience
• Practical – perfect for maximising space in a long marquee
• Energy – rows back-to-back create more of a buzz
• Visibility – no one has their back to the top table
• Impact – endless rows create a real visual statement

Plus, your catering team will thank you too, for ease of access 👀

Unless - and this is a hill we will die on - you try and fit FIVE lengthwise rows in your 12m deep marquee 🚩

It might look fine on a plan, or in an empty marquee, and your marquee company might even provide floor plans that show it, but please don’t do it! ✋ Once guests are seated (chairs out, bags down, staff moving)… there’s just NO space to walk between the rows. Flow is restricted, your wedding breakfast service becomes near impossible, and the whole room feels cramped.

Our top 3 tips for getting it right:
1. Leave at least 1.5 to 1.8m between tables
2. Add cross-aisles to rows of 6+ tables so guests and staff can move easily

For The Lovers ♥️

Happy Valentines Day. For me, it’s a not a day for extravagant gifts or out-of-season florals, just a good reminder to tell those I love just how much I do, and how appreciated they are. Plus an excuse to cook steaks, sit at the dining table for a change and enjoy a very good bottle of wine 🍷

Les Fleurs

A little floral moment, just because.

These blooms still have my heart - crème brûlée, toffee, peach, caramel. Soft, golden hues made for late summer days.

We’re working with some truly fabulous florists this year, and I already can’t wait to see the floral magic they create 💐

Pretty and Personal 🤍

The beautiful wedding breakfast details from E&Ts at-home marquee wedding in July. A gorgeous demonstration of how some little elevated details and simple personalisation can make a real statement.

Peach candlesticks in glass holders
Hand-painted pictures of the family dogs for table names
Polaroid photo place names

These little details lifted the look of the marquee wedding breakfast to give a feel of understated elegance, whilst maintaining a true-to-them nod to fun. It’s a great demonstration of the fact that you don’t need to upgrade all your tableware, glassware and use charger plates to create a statement tablescape. This was a perfect balance of prettiness and personality, and we loved it.

Just Divine

The best way of summing up E&T’s beautiful at-home wedding in the Leicestershire countryside this summer 🤍

Our couple were just gorgeous inside and out, and working with them was pure joy and so much fun! As was their truly personal wedding, centred around the bride’s family home, opposite the beautiful St Andrew’s church, where their brides parents were also married.

There were so many gorgeous and personal details incorporated into this special day, our favourites being
⛪️ The bridal party walking to church, led by
🎤 Standing speeches in the garden during the drinks reception
🍑 The achingly pretty & romantic soft pastel colour scheme of peach, lilac and soft blue - the florals by and the mid-matched bridesmaids outfits were all to-die-for 👌🏻
🐕 Tula the doggy ring-bearer - and the family dog portrait table names, hand-drawn by the bride’s very talented artist mother
🤝 The bride & groom personally welcoming all guests to the reception, line-up style
🌳 Using different parts of the beautiful grounds at the family home for the reception, wedding breakfast and cocktail hour
🥂 The amazing outdoor bar hand-crafted by our clever groom!

It was near impossible to choose just 20 of our favourite images for the grid, so you can certainly expect to see more of this wonderful wedding.

Fields of Gold 🌾

Yes, yes, yes to more wheat field moments. Obsessed with this moment from F&Vs amazing day back at the start of July 💛

It’s that time of year when all the galleries start popping into our inbox and we get to re-live the fabulous moments from this Summer’s weddings.

We collaborated with F&V for 16 months, leading them through their planning journey to create an incredible celebration for 250 guests. It was such a privilege to support this gorgeous couple and be part of such a wonderful day.
