One whole year since this wonderfully colourful celebration at The Lakeside.

From four-legged ring bearers and a ceremony beneath the stretch tent, to a tipi filled with laughter, dancing and love, this wedding was full of personality from beginning to end. Every detail reflected the the couple perfectly, and it was such a pleasure to play a part in bringing it all together.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll have the rare opportunity to experience The Lakeside with a beautiful canvas and pole marquee by already in situ.

This is the perfect time to visit as we prepare for our forthcoming weddings. No creative imagination required! Step inside the marquee, explore our breathtaking lakeside wedding venue and see first-hand how the meadow comes to life on a wedding day.

We have a variety of private show-round appointments available on weekday afternoons and evenings over the coming weeks, with just a handful of weekend appointments available too – so be quick before they’re gone!

Even better, if you’re planning a 2027 marquee wedding, we still have a limited selection of dates available across May, July, August and September. Our 2028 diary is now open too.

When we first imagined hosting weddings here at we knew our wildlife-abundant, mirror-like lake would be the star of the show. We wanted a place where couples and guests could pause for a moment together, surrounded by nothing but water, wildlife and the landscape.

From golden hour backdrops to just-married moments,it’s a privilege to watch so many memories made and captured here

It rained on the Saturday of the first weekend of June last year as well as this year but, as always, our couples prove that you don’t need sunshine to have an amazing celebration.

D&C’s big day was full of fun, frolics, laughter and love and we had the best time helping celebrate their marriage.

Sunshine is lovely… but a great wedding plan works whatever the weather 🌦️

One of the reasons we love yurts at The Lakeside is because they work brilliantly when the British weather ‘does its thing’.

Of all the structure choices out there, yurts feel the most like actually going inside - perhaps it’s their gorgeous wooden doors. Warm, sheltered and surprisingly spacious, they create a cosy atmosphere even on grey days, keeping guests comfortable within a stunning statement space.

They’re also incredibly special inside; the natural canvas, curved wooden structure and soft light filtering through the roof lanterns create such an atmospheric setting and an amazing backdrop for dining, speeches and dancing.

So if it does rain on your big day, choosing the right structure means you don’t have to compromise on the experience. Sometimes it just means celebrating under cover with the sound of rain on the canvas and everyone warm and cosy inside ✨

Special thanks to our incredible structure supplier for being flexible enough to erect yurts this week in place of open-sided stretch tents to ensure our wedding guests stay warm and dry whatever the weather, and still enjoy a truly magical wedding experience 👏🏼

Happy 1st Anniversary A&J 🚜💚

In case you weren’t around for this fabulous wedding last year, A&J’s wedding was a truly special one for us, as they’re part of the family. They live and work across the farm estate, so it was an honour and privilege to host their wedding here at The Lakeside and be part of so much joy and love for two wonderful people.

For one day only, everything farming was glamorous, and the many thoughtful and personal touches made this such a unique celebration. Enjoy re-living some of the moments from this fantastic day.
