Girlhood.

There’s something so incredible special about capturing friendships on a wedding day. Yes, there’s the dress, the flowers and beautiful spaces but underneath all that are these little pockets of life. The people who know you best.

As a child, we moved countries... a lot. I was often the new kid in class, so I became pretty good at sitting back and watching.

I noticed how people spoke, how they walked into a room, how they laughed with their friends, how they looked at each other when they thought nobody was watching.

I think I’ve carried that into the way I photograph people. I’ve never been particularly interested in having a set style or making every wedding look the same. I just like paying attention. Looking for the little things, the in-between moments, the stuff that happens without anyone thinking about the camera.

This year, I’ve been trying to come back to that a bit more. To photograph weddings in a way that feels more like me.

These images sums it up pretty well. They’re a little blurry, a little chaotic and everyone is just in the moment.

But I love them. Because when I look at them, I can remember what it felt like to be in that room and that’s the whole point right?
