Now he is working in the Woodland Kitchen combining more than 20 years experience to produce exquisite dishes for those special events – everything from a family celebration to a sumptuous charity banquet – along with his own range of smoked artisan products.

Sumptuous food, a wonderful atmosphere and the standards only Chef and the team bring... just another evening at The Woodland Kitchen! Chef Mark has been hard at it, looking after our clients across the county over the past few months, with a VIP or two this past weekend. A menu of potted Cornish crab, slow roasted pork belly and a delicious warm chocolate fondant... yes Chef!

And there it is... the first festive ham of the season, out and ready to enjoy... and on its way to our first customer this evening. Yes Chef!

And following on from our hams, our award winning, hot smoked, spiced salmon, is all trayed up and ready to visit Ol' Smokey... just a few hours left for any orders, if you haven't placed yours yet.

Curry Night is a SELLOUT!

By popular demand... the NEXT Woodland Wednesdays is Curry Night at The Castle Inn, 12th November 2025

Another amazing night yesterday at The Castle, with a full house, and everyone very complimentary of Chef's slow cooked shoulder of pork, accompanied by apples supplied by a local of the inn. We were also treated to some delicious pears by the same kind person, so Chef whipped up an Autumn Eton Mess, which went down a storm as well. Whilst everyone was relaxing and enjoying the food, a few team members checked in with the guests to get their feedback on what we should do next time. The overwhelming response was...
