There are no hidden extras, no corkage charges and no fixed suppliers, giving you the choice to have a DIY wedding, a fully catered wedding or anything in between. The Pilgrims Rest is an exclusive use wedding venue run by our friendly and professional team who will guide you on the run up to, and on the day of, your wedding, ensuring your day runs seamlessly.

Professionally designed and styled to need little decoration, but one you can add to and make your own, every detail has been carefully considered creating a wedding venue that is beautiful yet relaxed; affordable yet aspirational. The Pilgrims Rest is quite simply a truly magical place to tie the knot. Far more than just a beautiful building; this grand old lady has historic soul. She has hosted celebrations from Medieval banquets to Georgian balls, Victorian luncheons to Edwardian tea dances. The Pilgrims Rest is a pet friendly venue as we understand just how important it is to have every member of your family at your wedding, especially the furry ones!

The Pilgrims Rest has a long list of tried, tested and trusted suppliers to help you along the way with planning your wedding day.

Whilst we don’t have any restrictions with what suppliers you can choose for your day, every supplier on our list has worked at our venue multiple times and to an incredibly high standard helping you feel at ease on your day.

Recommended timings for your wedding at The Pilgrims Rest.

There’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to timings, just make sure your supplies are happy !

Our Bells and Whistles hire option starts from 9am giving you a little lay in for your big day - you have the day before for setting up the venue so no ‘morning of’ stresses.

2pm ceremonies give you and any MUAs plenty of time to get ready. For legal ceremonies, don’t forget your interviews from 1:30pm.

2:30 confetti and photos. Have your drinks and canapés come out after your confetti photo so you don’t have confetti fillled champagne glasses.

4pm sit down for food and food served at 4:15pm. Trust us, it takes that long to seat your guests.

Speeches can be done at any part of your day- we just recommend after dessert Incase the speeches are longer than planned. We’ve never met a dad with a “5 minute” speech that has actually been 5 minutes!

Cake cutting and first dance around 7pm. Again there’s no right or wrong time for this, just make sure it doesn’t conflict with evening food.

11pm drinks and music finish. You have 45 minutes to say goodbye to your guests and make a grand exit !

These are just our recommendations so don’t panic if you’ve gone for something different !
