Some couples just have a way of making the world around them disappear. Ting & Franz were one of those couples.

I still remember watching them together beneath the trees and lavender fields as their backdrop. Completely wrapped up in the moment, sharing the kind of smiles that don’t need any direction from a photographer. Just genuine happiness, excitement for the future, and the quiet comfort of knowing you’ve found your soulmate.

Four years later, I hope life has brought you both plenty of reasons to smile at each other the same way you did on your wedding day.

Two years ago today, Alice & Josh tied the knot.

Proof that carrying your new wife across a dusty Somerset field is still a perfectly acceptable way to celebrate your wedding day. 😄

I remember their wedding for all the right reasons. It was relaxed, full of great people, and completely free from any pressure to be anything other than themselves.
The older I get, the more I realise that’s what makes a great wedding—and a great marriage. Not perfection. Just finding your soulmate and choosing them, over and over again.

Happy 2nd Anniversary, you two. I hope life is treating you kindly and that your adventure continues. 💖

A quick re-introduction from yours truly…

Hey, I’m Steve — the slightly sleep-deprived human behind the lens of Steve Lee Photoworks.

I photograph weddings, couples, surprise proposals, and people who usually say things like: “We’re awkward in front of the camera.”

Perfect. My favourite kind of people…
I’m based in Bath, UK, and spend most weekends quietly documenting emotional people with my cameras while pretending not to cry during speeches, or laugh at the father of the bride telling jokes

My approach to photography is pretty simple:
No stiff posing.
No fake laughing at nothing.
No turning your wedding day into an 8-hour photoshoot.

I want your photos to feel like you. The real emotions. The calm moments, the chaos, the hugs from grandparents, the badly timed confetti throws, the slightly drunk dance floor decisions… all of that and more…

Many couples book me because they don’t want their wedding to feel performative. Honestly, neither do I.

I’ll guide you when you need it, disappear when you don’t, and probably say “this light is amazing” at least 37 times during golden hour.

My style leans cinematic, intimate, and natural — but at the heart of it all, I just care about people feeling comfortable enough to forget the camera’s even there.

Also:
• I drink too much coffee.
• I will absolutely fix your buttonhole, bow-tie, your veil, and let you know when your hair is covering your face.
• I get emotionally attached to my couples.
• And yes, I’ve been known to lie on muddy ground for “the shot.”

This is a little behind-the-scenes glimpse of me photographing Izzy & George during their blue hour portraits.

One of the biggest concerns couples tell me is that they’re worried they’ll feel awkward in front of the camera. The truth is, you don’t need to know how to pose or perform. My role is to help you feel comfortable, give gentle guidance when needed, and create space for you to simply enjoy being together.

The result? Natural moments, genuine connection, and photographs that feel like you.

One Year Later... 🤍

A year ago today, Marykate & Chris stood together in the beautiful surroundings of St John the Evangelist Church in Bath and promised each other forever.

Twelve months on, I still remember the laughter, the emotion, the happy tears, and the way these two looked at each other as if nobody else existed in the room. Moments like these are why I love what I do.

Happy 1st Anniversary, Marykate & Chris. Wishing you both another year filled with love, adventure, laughter, and countless memories together. Here’s to the next chapter. 🥂

As the celebrations slowed and the evening settled over Bath, we stepped away for a few quiet moments during blue hour.

No dramatic posing. Just Izzy & George together — husband and wife at last.

There’s something deeply moody about blue hour portraits. The softness of the light, the calm after the energy of the day, the feeling that time briefly pauses.
For these two, it felt even more meaningful knowing they weren’t just marrying the love of their life… but the person who had already been their constant for years.

You could feel it in every interaction between them — the way they laughed, how comfortable they are with each other and that rare kind of love built slowly over time.

Some weddings feel elegant. Some feel emotional. And some feel like pure joy from beginning to end.

Izzy & George’s confetti moment was exactly that.
Surrounded by the people who watched their story grow from childhood friendship into something extraordinary, they walked through a storm of laughter, cheers, hugs, and confetti — finally married to the person who had been there all along.

There was no pressure to perform. No forced moments. Just a genuine connection between two soulmates who already knew each other inside out. That comfort, trust, and friendship shaped every frame throughout the day.

The bridal party energy afterwards was unreal — effortless chemistry, endless laughter, and the kind of atmosphere that reminds you weddings are ultimately about people, not perfection.

There’s something incredibly rare about photographing two people who didn’t just fall in love… they grew up together first.

From childhood memories to wedding morning butterflies, Izzy & George began this day surrounded by calm, excitement, and the quiet emotion of knowing they were about to marry their best friend.

At the beautiful Royal Crescent Hotel, the morning unfolded gently — handwritten moments, final touches, champagne by the window, and that unmistakable feeling that this wasn’t just a wedding day… it was the continuation of a story years in the making.
While Izzy prepared with elegance and grace, George waited quietly across the hotel, taking in the significance of the day ahead. Two separate rooms. One shared history.

These are the moments I love most — honest, cinematic, emotional, and completely unrepeatable.
