We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered or visited our National Garden Scheme open day last Sunday. It takes a significant amount of preparation to get ready for an event like this, and it is always a bit nerve-racking wondering if the weather will be kind, but fortunately, everything went well.
It was the first time we have shared our National Collection of Geums, and it was lovely to meet so many enthusiasts of this adorable plant. We have over 130 cultivars in the garden, many of which may be unfamiliar to visitors, so I spent the best part of the day answering questions about them. It was truly heartening to see such a high level of interest.
The funds raised will support several great causes, including The Carers Trust, Hospice UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Parkinson's UK, and The Queen's Institute of Community Nursing. A donation will also be made to Plant Heritage for plant conservation. With their vital support, we are able to help conserve plants for future generations.
If you missed our open day and would like to visit, we are also open by arrangement for charity over the summer months for groups of 10-20 people. During July and August, our cutting garden comes to life with flowers, offering a different experience for visitors. We hope to welcome more of you to Court View over the summer.
