I thoroughly enjoyed the Egg Basket Weaving Workshop with Jane Welch on 6 July 2026.
Jane is an excellent teacher who explains every step so clearly and patiently. She has a wonderful way of making what seems like a very complicated process feel achievable, and she’s always there to offer support and encouragement when things go a little pear-shaped. One thing I particularly appreciate is her commitment to ensuring that everyone leaves with a finished piece. No matter your skill level or how challenging you find certain stages, Jane is always on hand to help you get your basket completed and looking beautiful.
The first half of the workshop can feel quite daunting, and it’s hard to imagine that the bundle of willow in front of you will eventually become a beautiful basket. Yet somehow, with Jane’s expert guidance, everyone leaves with a finished basket they can be proud of. I’m always amazed at what I’m able to create during these sessions.
The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and supportive, making the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish.
A special thank you also goes to Sharon, who is such an amazing host. I love her passion and commitment to bringing these wonderful creative experiences to the community. Her enthusiasm shines through in every event she organises.
I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone interested in learning a new skill, spending time with like-minded people, and creating something beautiful to take home.
