- Education -
After leaving school in 2009 I went to Barnsley College to study ‘Childcare’ (Level 2). After a year of studying Childcare I moved to a different course to study ‘First Diploma Media’ for a year. For my level 3 media course I then studied ‘Interactive Media’ for a further two years. In my final year of ‘imedia’ I decided to take the choice of applying for university. I applied at universities in Wakefield, Leeds, Sheffield and Huddersfield.
- University of Huddersfield -
Bachelor of Arts with Honors, upper second class in Photography
MA in Digital Media. Pass with Merit (2017)
During my four years of studying at the University of Huddersfield I achieved my undergraduate (BA Hons) and postgraduate (MA). I spent 3 years studying on the undergraduate course studying different types of photography such as portraits, fashion, beauty, food, advertising and also product photography. I often used the equipment offered at university such as Nikon D800, D700, D7000, D300 and a Mamiya camera (only a hand few of times). I also use their portable lighting for my location shoots and I spent a lot of time in the photography studios. While on the MA course, my whole year of researching was based on the male gaze and how this linked with photography.
- My Equipment -
My main camera is the Canon 70D and my second camera is Canon 1100D. I have experience using Nikon D700, D800 & D810 as I used them during my university studies. Studio experiencing using studio lighting equipment including Bowens and Elinchrom. I own a number of Lens, a tripod’s and I also have my own small Portable Studio with lighting/backdrops etc.
- Photography -
I started up 'Katie Williams Photography' at the beginning of 2013 on a page. From starting this page, I have done a number of wedding photography and I’ve also done a charity event in Leeds that held around 200 people. I have had the pleasure of working with a new-born baby and his mother. I love doing landscape photography and its one of my favourite fields in photography. I would also love to be able to do portraits such as family portraits and more new-born, etc. I have also done a prom and would love the opportunity to be involved in more proms.
I do have a watermark on my images. The only people who have rights to copy these images are the people in the images ONLY! ...
