And here’s another massive thank you…to all of you who supported our Family Fun Day.
Whether you baked, donated items to sell, donated tombola & raffle prizes, gave your time or turned up on the day a spent money with us, in total you helped us to raise £688.00 towards our future events!!!

Dare we say it? Roll on Christmas & the Christmas Lights Switch On, as always it will be on the first Thursday in December 💙

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along and supported our 2026 Family Fun Day yesterday! 🥳

We do our best for every event we hold and the day was packed with fun, laughter and smiles, and we’ve been absolutely delighted to hear so many lovely comments, thanks and compliments from those who attended. They are truly appreciated and mean so much to us. ❤️

A very special thank you goes to the young people from Great Houghton Youth Group, who worked hard to secure this year’s funding from BMBC – Great Childhoods Ambition, helping to make the event possible. 👏

And of course, a massive thank you to all our amazing volunteers. Without your time, hard work and dedication, the Family Fun Day simply could not have happened. 🙌

Thank you once again to everyone who baked, donated goods for sales, shared our posts, came along, supported us and helped make the day such a fantastic success!

A quick message to all our lovely supporters…if you’re able to donate tombola prizes or cakes/buns for Saturdays Family Fun Day we’ve be extremely thankful. You can drop them off at the Welfare Hall 9.30am - 11.30am 🙏🏼

A Great Houghton Resident has very kindly offered these items for us to sell. They can be picked up on Saturday at our Family Fun Day at Great Houghton Welfare Hall. Let us know if you want any of them & we’ll save them for you.

All good stuff 🎉

More sessions of fun for Children & Young People to enjoy and we’re so thankful to have this provision. The BYouth sessions are organised by the Barnsley Council South Area Team, you can catch the them at the Skate Park on Tuesday.

There’s also the hugely popular Adaptive Gaming Youth & Community CIC sessions, Great Houghton Youth Group session and the Fun Grassroots Sports Academy Yorkshire sessions. All organised by Great Houghton Youth Group.

All that’s left to do is turn up!!! ✅⚽️🏹🧒🏼👧🏽👦🏻🕹️🥳

Our Family Fun Day is nearly here and this year’s event is a little different! This year children from the village have accessed funding & planned the event together. They’ve just put out a post for tombola prizes, cakes & buns. We know how kind you all are every year, so please try & donate if you can. Any money we make on the day goes straight back into village events & projects.

You can drop the tombola prizes off at the Welfare any Monday - Friday 9.30am - 11.30am from tomorrow (3rd August) but any baking needs dropping off on 21st August.

Thank you for all the help you give us, we very much appreciate it 🥰
