I'm currently at the height of my summer weddings, the pressure is intense I start to worry that I've snapped at my kids, hubby or staff.
Also worrying if I've done all I can for the wedding I've styled that day, have I been professional enough, was it all they dreamed it would be, am I one wedding away from getting a bad review(my worst fear that I fell short of expectations) I also don't get an actual day off in summer, I'm usually working in some capacity, it's not just styling weddings, it's un styling them(or take downs as we like to call them) washing , ironing, cleaning and sorting the wedding I've taken down, prepping the next wedding(or currently prepping the next 5 weddings) answering emails, sending invoices, sending last details, ordering stock, doing consultations, it makes me tired just writing it!!
This busy summer period july-sept I will have worked long hours styling 39 weddings, each one has to be perfect, it's someone's dream day and that pressure is a lot! I'm a real perfectionist.
I absolutely love being my own boss and my little business but during busy times I do start to wish my life away wanting the quieter more chilled out months.
I'm about to go into a ten day stint and these reviews landed just when I needed it most. To give me that encouragement to keep going. 💪🏻
If you know someone in the wedding industry give them a hug, they need it🥰
If someone did a good job, you had a fab meal at a restaurant, a lovely stay at a hotel, a good experience somewhere, leave a review about it. They are more important than you think.
