Today I conducted my final funeral service as a celebrant – a role that has brought me immense purpose, pride, and connection over the last 16 months. I want to thank every family who trusted me to tell their loved one’s story, and every funeral director who supported me along the way. It has been a genuine honour to stand beside you during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Now, I’m excited to begin a new chapter as Development Manager with Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS) – an organisation whose mission and values deeply resonate with me. I’m looking forward to making a difference in a new way, supporting those who serve and those who care.

Thank you again – for the memories, the trust, and the privilege.

URGENT! - HELP US TO SPREAD THE WORD IN THE NORTH OF THE UK

2023 and 2024 saw very few nominations from couples in the North of the UK which is very unusual and very disappointing for our charity, especially as we are based in the North. We have concluded that this must be because of the algorithms on our social media platforms. We are therefore aiming to level things up again in 2025, but we need your help.

If you live anywhere in the North of England, Scotland, North Wales or Northern Ireland and you work for or know a charity that deals with end of life or very ill patients, a Marie Currie or Macmillan nurse, you live near a hospice or hospital or personally know someone with a terminal or life-limiting illness who would like to marry or renew their vows, we would love to hear from them. Thank you for all your support during my time at the Invictus Games Vancouver/Whistler 2025. It has been the greatest experience of my life and I cannot wait to continue the journey and hopefully make the team again for Birmingham 2027.

For now though its a return to work to support and deliver services for families who have lost loved ones.
