Well it was another fun alpaca experience today and another return visit from a lovely family who came last year.

The alpacas definitely enjoy having company and getting treats. The 2 new girls Misty and Luna are getting more used to visitors but still a bit shy. Kingston was his usual self trying to get all the treats 😂

We run the alpaca experience until late October if the weather is good and we also offer vouchers if anyone is looking for a fun gift for a friend or relative.

So it was yoga with the alpacas today and making some beautiful zen jars with

We loved the yoga, deeply relaxing but also a very good workout and Gem has a wonderful and fun style. The deep relaxation was a full sensory experience being outside with the birdsong, cloud watching and the sun did come out!

As you can see the alpacas were quite curious. What was really funny was how they all laid down when all the people were in the deep relaxation at the end. Perhaps they enjoyed the experience too!

Friends were made, cake was eaten and just a lovely chill out day ❤️

This is all part of mindfulness.

The ability to see a situation for what it really is and then decide whether a reaction is necessary, and what it will achieve.

We all add our own personal "stories" to many of our life experiences. Depending on our upbringing, past experiences, expectations, and influences from friends and family we can make situations worse than they actually are and create more stress and unhappiness for ourselves.

We can also have unrealistic expectations of how our lives "should be" rather than how they currently are.

This doesn't mean you should accept things that make you unhappy, or not make plans to change things in your life, just try to do it from a grounded perspective.

Next time you are stuck in a drama try to stand back and just observe. You have no idea how much more powerful this is rather than being swept along. Of course the drama will pass whether you react to it or not.

If there are any crafters on here looking for entire alpaca fleece to use or the seconds for stuffing material please get in touch or have a look at our Etsy page.

If you are local you are welcome to come and collect and meet the alpacas while you are here. The stuffing material is £5 for a black bag full.

Please note the fleece is raw ie unwashed and uncarded. Our animals are very well cared for and I always love to know what their fleece gets made into.

Autumn Leaves and Nature - Introduction to Gelli Plate Printing. Hosted by Julie Bolus

Discover the World of Gelli Plate Printing. It's fun, and very immersive. You won't be able to stop!

Learn how to roll out acrylic paint onto your gell plate and transfer onto paper. Explore a variety of ways to add interest to your print by layering colours, incorporating pattern, mark making and experimenting with natural plant foliage and handmade stencils. Enhance your prints with some hand drawn decorative elements.

You will leave the workshop having produced a selection of prints that stand alone or can be developed further into collages.

A very mindful experience. You will start the day foraging for natural plant life around the gardens of Mill House, followed by Gell plate printing in the cob house and finally adding decorative elements to some of your prints inspired by a nature walk outside

All materials provided. Suitable for all abilities.

Workshop also includes refreshments, cake and a special treat meeting the alpacas at the end of the day.

Anyone guess what we have been doing today?

Yep the summer holidays are in full swing and we have been busy lately with lots of alpaca experiences.

Today's family were return visitors from last year and they wanted to see the gang again. We took Misty and Luna on their first walk today and they did really well. It's lovely to see them growing in confidence with visitors.
