They came for the Giant’s Causeway… but I think the photos stole the show 🌊🌊🌊

A golden evening at Hamilton’s Seat and the Giant’s Causeway, with the kind of wild Northern Irish coastline that makes you stop and think, surely this can’t be real.

The wind was absolutely flying, but honestly? It made the whole thing.

Her satin dress caught every gust, flowing through the cliffs and grass like it had been made for this exact evening. Add in a little golden light, dramatic sea views and the two of them completely wrapped up in each other… and suddenly holiday photos feel a lot more like an adventure.
I think we gave them a little more than holiday snaps. 🤍

These are the portraits I love most—elegant without feeling posed, editorial yet deeply personal. Timeless photographs that capture not only how your wedding day looked, but how it felt.

We slipped away during the early evening light, when the summer sun softened and the grounds became wonderfully quiet. No rushing. No audience. Just the two of them wandering the garden, laughing beneath the trees, dancing on the forest, and soaking in those first precious moments.

There are always a few secret ingredients to a surprise proposal.

A carefully planned walk. A photographer hiding in the long grass. A racing heartbeat. And hoping your partner doesn’t notice anything is out of the ordinary.

On this beautiful golden evening along the Causeway Coastal Route, we had a plan. I was tucked away in the long grass at Dunseverick Castle Ruins while these two wandered through the landscape, soaking up the views as the sun began to set. She had absolutely no idea what was about to happen.

Then he got down on one knee… and she said yes.

Once the excitement settled (just a little!), he finally revealed where I’d been hiding all along – there’s even a photo of the moment he revealed me emerging from the grass, which still makes me smile.

From there, we simply wandered together, making the most of that gorgeous golden light. No awkward posing, just lots of laughter, quiet moments, and the joy that comes with being newly engaged. Those first few minutes after a proposal are so special. Everything feels lighter, slower, and full of possibility.

If you’re planning a surprise proposal in Northern Ireland, I’d love to help you keep the secret safe and capture every moment – from the nervous anticipation to the “yes,” and all the beautiful memories afterwards.

The girls absolutely stole the show at this one. There’s something so special about a wedding where everyone simply lets children be children. Little flower girls twirling in oversized dresses, chasing each other across the lawns of Lough Eske Castle, hiding beneath the bride’s veil and dancing through the day without a care in the world. Those are the moments that become family favourites years from now.

One of my favourite parts of photographing weddings is noticing the little stories happening around the edges. While everyone else is focused on the timeline, there are tiny hands reaching for a veil, giggles echoing through the gardens, and a bride soaking it all in with the biggest smile.

A lot of this wedding was photographed on 35mm analogue film, which felt like the perfect choice. Film has a way of preserving moments with so much softness and nostalgia—the movement, the laughter, the imperfect little moments that make a wedding feel real.

Lough Eske Castle was the perfect backdrop for it all. Elegant, timeless and surrounded by beautiful grounds that gave everyone space to slow down, play and enjoy every part of the day.

A little wedding in the heart of Belfast. 🤍

There’s something so effortlessly stylish about a Belfast City Hall wedding. No long drives between venues, no rushing from one place to another—just time to soak it all in together.

This spring day had everything. Blossoms filling the trees around City Hall, warm sunshine spilling through the streets, and the city quietly going about its day as these two wandered hand in hand, newly married. We crossed roads between the traffic lights, laughed our way through Belfast’s streets, and embraced every little unscripted moment that unfolded.

Their morning began slowly with relaxed getting-ready moments. Her elegant dress hanging in the light, delicate earrings, classic shoes, and one of my favourite moments of the day—her little son’s tiny hand pressed gently against her chest before she left to become a bride. Those are the photographs that will mean even more with time.

The grandeur of Belfast City Hall gave us the most beautiful backdrop, before we slipped into the chic surroundings of Margo for a few celebratory photographs that felt intimate, stylish and completely them.

To make the day even more nostalgic, part of their gallery was photographed on 35mm analogue film. Film has a way of slowing everything down. The soft grain, imperfect motion blur and timeless colours perfectly suited a city wedding that felt relaxed, romantic and wonderfully real.

If you’re planning an intimate celebration and searching for a City Hall wedding photographer in Belfast, know that your day doesn’t need to be extravagant to feel unforgettable. Sometimes all you need is your favourite people, beautiful architecture, a walk through the city, and the freedom to simply enjoy being married.

Some places carry memories long before they become the place where a new chapter begins. For Lauren and Nathan, that place was White Rocks Beach, with Royal Portrush Golf Club stretching across the headland behind them. A view that has shaped so much of their story already. Lauren won the Women’s British Amateur here in 2011, and Nathan fulfilled a lifelong dream when he played in his first Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2025⛳️

So when Nathan began planning the biggest surprise of all, there was never really anywhere else it could be. Lauren thought they were simply escaping to Northern Ireland for a few days together. Instead, she found herself standing above the beach, completely unaware that the love of her life was about to ask one of the most important questions either of them would ever hear.

The surprise was perfect. The shaking hands. The tears. The laughter. That moment where the world seems to stand still and nothing else matters.

Afterwards, another surprise awaited them—a beautiful dinner with close friends to celebrate the beginning of this new season together.

Photographing moments like these is such a privilege because they’re impossible to recreate. The adrenaline, the disbelief, the overwhelming joy… these photographs will always take them back to exactly how it felt.

Lauren and Nathan, thank you for letting me quietly witness one of the happiest days of your lives. Wishing you both every happiness as you begin this next adventure together. 🤍

There’s something so special about a wedding day where nobody has to rush. From getting ready in one place, to an emotional ceremony, portraits around the estate, and an afternoon spent simply soaking it all in with the people who matter most—this day at Castle Bellingham unfolded exactly as it should.

One of my favourite parts? These two chose to do their couple portraits before the ceremony. It meant there was no pressure afterwards, no disappearing from guests who had traveled very far indeed. Instead, they spent the afternoon chatting with family, sharing hugs, enjoying drinks and snacks, and being completely present before heading into dinner. It’s such a lovely way to experience your wedding day, different.

And can we take a moment for the bride’s morning look? That incredible feathered dressing gown in the opening image, as she’s running towards the castle, was every bit as memorable as her wedding dress. Such a fun, editorial touch that made the morning feel extra special before she changed into her gown.

Castle Bellingham really is one of those venues where everything flows effortlessly. Having your entire day in one stunning location gives you more time to enjoy every moment, rather than worrying about travelling between venues.

Days like this are a reminder that the best wedding timelines aren’t about fitting everything in—they’re about creating space to actually experience your wedding day.
