A little glimpse of what’s in the shop at the moment 🌿✨

June is here, and with it comes a whole host of exciting things behind the scenes. We’re looking ahead to the weddings we’ll be working on over the next few weeks, with some beautiful colour palettes and creative designs planned that I honestly can’t wait to bring to life.

It’s also been lovely chatting with future couples about their wedding flower ideas and hearing all about the celebrations they’re planning. If you’re currently in the midst of wedding planning and looking for a florist, I’d love to hear from you and talk through your ideas.

A few dates remain available for 2026, while 2027 is now open for bookings. We’re even taking enquiries for 2028 for those of you who are super organised and planning well ahead! 💍

And a little reminder that our workshops are live on the website too… cough cough Christmas workshops 🎄😉. If there’s one you’ve had your eye on, now’s the time to secure your place as they do fill up quickly.

We’ve also had a gorgeous fresh flower delivery arrive this week, ready to be turned into bouquets and used to flower up homes & businesses.

Perfect for registry ceremonies, intimate weddings, elopements, or those who simply prefer to keep things straightforward, our Ready-to-Wear Wedding Flowers package starts from just £200 and includes:

- A bridal bouquet
- One buttonhole

Simply choose your colour palette, and we’ll take care of the rest. Your flowers will be created in our signature romantic, garden-inspired style using the very best seasonal blooms available at the time of your wedding.

This is a florist’s choice package, meaning we select the flowers for you based on what’s looking most beautiful and in season, while staying true to your chosen colour palette.

Every Wednesday morning, we visit to refresh the floral display on the entrance hallway table 🌿✨

At this time of year, when the gardens are bursting into life, it’s such a joy to incorporate seasonal cuttings into the arrangements wherever possible. Guests often ask, “Are any of the flowers from the garden?” — and the answer is very often yes. Whether it’s flowers, foliage or delicate textures gathered from the grounds, we always try to bring a little of the outside in.

Alongside the garden cuttings, we love working with other seasonal and locally grown flowers and foliage too, creating arrangements full of natural movement, texture and interest.

This week’s arrangement featured beautiful pink peonies, delicate orange geums and rich damson-toned physocarpus foliage with tiny flowers that perfectly complemented the softer tones of the larkspur, spray roses, astrantia and carnations already within the design. We finished the arrangement with grasses and rosemary, adding movement, lightness and a soft garden fragrance throughout the space.

There’s something so special about creating arrangements that truly reflect the season and the landscape around us 💐

With the warmer weather, we’ll be keeping smaller quantities of flowers in the shop at one time, with more frequent fresh top-ups throughout the week. This helps us keep everything looking its absolute best and ensures the freshest blooms possible 💐

Red isn’t always the go to colour for wedding flowers as it’s strong, bold, richly pigmented — and naturally draws the eye more than almost any other shade. But don’t let that put you off using it in your floral arrangements.

The key to working beautifully with red is understanding its undertones. Is it a blue-based red with cooler tones, or more of an orange-based red with warmth running through it? Once you identify that, pairing becomes much easier.

Cooler, blue-toned reds look beautiful alongside lilacs, dusky pinks and crisp whites, creating something soft and elegant. Warmer, orange-toned reds sit more naturally with peaches, corals and terracotta shades for a richer, sun-soaked palette.

When it comes to red, less is often more. Because it’s such a richly pigmented, impactful colour, you usually need far less of it to make a statement. Flowers within the same under tone but in different textures, shapes and sizes can also elevate your arrangements as it adds interest and makes the arrangement look less heavy by drawing the eye in.
