It was an absolute honor to create the bridal flowers for my Aunty's wedding yesterday. There were a few things she gave me in her brief ''I want one of those long bouquets'' ''PEONIES ooo Yes'' ''Bell's of Ireland must be featured to show my heritage as John is getting Heather shipped down from Scotland'' and the rest was left to my creativeness.
I knew our bridesmaid dresses were a dark lavender so I was certain we were going to feature scented Armundo lilac roses in our simple handtieds. I finished them off with scented freesia, lisianthus and wax flower.
The gorgeous little flower girls had a delicate flower circlet each which featured lisianthus, wax flower and soft ruscus. They even lasted the whole day on, I was expecting them to be whipped off half way through the ceremony.
The bride got her shower bouquet and boy was it heavy! Packed full of the sweetest peonies, roses, freesia, lisianthus, wax flower, thistles and that all important Bells of Ireland. I finished it off with silver butterflies, tartan ribbon around the handle and also attached a broach - her something borrowed.
It was the first time I have ever been choked up presenting a bride with her bouquet but Aunty Sarah's emotions were running high but luckily enought the make-up artist was still on hand!
All the buttonholes featured the Heather all the way from the highlands of Scotland and finished off with a tartan bow.
It was one hell of an amazing day and I was honored to be apart of it. Thank you and congratulations to Mr and Mrs.Gunn
