Meet Selina, Founder and Head Chef of The Queen of the Kitchen Catering & Events and The Jerk Box.

Being of Jamaican and Dominican descent, having a business that celebrates Caribbean culture, flavours, and traditions is a true blessing and something I am proud to share with the world.

A little secret about me: I couldn't cook! My poor husband had to endure burnt meals and grainy rice while I learned my way around the kitchen. However, I pushed myself, kept practicing, and eventually discovered a genuine passion and love for cooking.

Following a tragic loss, I found the courage and determination to turn that passion into a business. What started as a dream has grown and is still growing into something I am incredibly proud of.

I am forever grateful to my dad and husband, who have invested so much time, effort, and belief into helping make this dream a reality. I am also thankful to our family for always stepping in to help with the children when we have events, allowing us to continue growing the business.

Most importantly, thank you to every friend, customer, and client who has purchased from us, booked us for an event, recommended us, or supported us along the way. Your support means more than words can express, and we would not be where we are today without you.

Real Jerk starts from scratch 🔥🇯🇲

We make our own homemade jerk marinade packed with bold flavours, then marinate our chicken for a full 24 hours so every bite is loaded!🌶️🤤

Once it’s soaked up all that goodness, it hits the grill for that smoky char before being served with our signature jerk sauce 🔥🍗

Howdy guys,

Following a wonderful but very busy week serving at our church conference, Kane was involved in a road accident on the way home.

We are grateful to God that there were no injuries; however, our vehicle and trailer are written off.

We are profoundly thankful for the support we have received over the years. What began as cooking through grief has grown into a business marked by meaningful encounters, friendships and opportunities.

We will now pause operations while we review the next steps. Our hope and prayer is to return in 2026. Thank you for your continued prayers and understanding.
