And that is me finished for this summer.
I have been lucky enough to officiate at some wonderful ceremonies this year, including my first micro wedding and today a beautiful traditional with a modern twist ceremony that included We do vows.
Next week I will be celebrating my daughter’s birthday and then it will be back to school again!
I hope all my couples, families and all wedding suppliers have had a wonderful summer and that we will get a few more days of summer before we enter Autumn.
Sending love to you all.

Happy National Dandelion day!

I have always thought that dandelions are not only a useful little flower but also a very cheerful one! And of course it is great fun to blow the seeds heads off them!

When we celebrate we often use flowers to decorate our venues. We also use them in our ceremonies, either as our wedding bouquet or as part of a mini ceremony such as a Rose ceremony. Whilst I am not suggesting that you use dandelions in your wedding bouquet it is lovely to stop and think about what flowers are in season around the time of your celebration and whether there are any you could grow in your own garden. Not only will this save you money but it will also help make your wedding more ecologically sustainable, which I believe is important.

In my wedding bouquet I had corn flowers which were in season at the time and which we grew and then picked from our garden. I do wonder if I would sneak a dandelion into my wedding bouquet now as I have many happy memories of them, not only from my own childhood but from being presented with many 'bouquets' of them over the years, not just from my daughter but also from many other children who I have had the privilege of knowing.

This fine bouquet is a gift from my daughter.

Do you have a favourite flower, or a flower that brings back happy memories for you that you plan on incorporating into your celebration flowers?

Happy International Women’s Day

These are the wonderful woman that I have the pleasure of journeying through life with. I always think that the biggest gift my parents ever gave me, was my sisters 💕

Every year we all get together to do some Christmas crafting so this is us all making our rag wreaths. It was lovely this year as my niece joined us for the first time. There is another couple of young women to join us in the next few years when they are old enough. I think it is such an honour and privilege to watch the children in our family grow into such wonderful young adults.

Who are the amazing women in your lives?

Today is 'Baby Sleep Day'
Highlighting the importance of sleep to babies.
Anyone who has been a parent is fully aware of the challenges of an over tired child and how important naps times are in those early years!
By working together when planning your baby's naming ceremony, we can ensure that your baby gets the nap they need, meaning you all have a wonderful day. Even if this means delaying the start time of your ceremony for a little while so your baby can finish their nap!
Sweet dreams little one. xx

Tomorrow is 'walking the dog day'.
Now despite my daughter's sustained campaign in this area we still don't have a dog in our family, but we do have other much loved family pets!
Pets can in many ways become part of our family and for some of us we would love to include them in our special occasion. Whether you want your dog as a ring bearer at your wedding ceremony, your parrot to fly in your vows at your vow renewal ceremony, or your tortoise to be part of your naming ceremony, we can make this happen.
What ways can you think of to include your pets at your ceremony?

Now I am good at many things but I wouldn't say that technology is one of my major strengths! 😆
However, I am feeling rather proud of myself because despite all the challenges over the last couple of weeks I have done it! My website is up. 😊
Do pop on over and have a little look at it and if I can help you with creating your wedding or naming ceremony, please just drop me a line.
Now the only thing left to so is figure out how to get it to link to my google business profile! 🤔

Hello,
It's lovely to be back.
After taking some time off for personal reasons I am now looking forward to lots more lovely celebrations and ceremonies in 2024.
Have you got a special celebration this year?

Honouring those who can’t be with us.

Sometimes, for many different reasons, those who we love are not able to be with us on our special day.

You might want to honour these missing loved ones in your ceremony. There are many different ways this can be done, some can make a statement or be quite obvious and others can be more subtle and maybe only those in the know will be aware of them.

There is no right or wrong way to honour those who can’t be with you, just the right way for you.

As I get to know you, I can suggest ideas that might work for you and your family and together we can create a special way of honouring those who you love.

I just love this way of honouring a missing grandparent. Their favourite flower, a sunflower, tucked into the bouquet. Meaning the memory of this grandparent was able to accompany this bride down the aisle in a tangible way. 🌻

Such lovely feedback received today from a gorgeous wedding at the end of September.

I just loved creating this ceremony it had all my loves in it; unity ceremonies, personalisation, humour, joy, amazing readings and a stunning venue. And Ben, Danni and all their friends and family were just a complete joy to work with. Thank you for trusting me to be your celebrant.

It seems a really obvious thing to say but honestly the loveliest ceremonies are the ones that are really personal.

I am often asked ‘Well what normally happens?’ And while I am always happy to answer this question I also like to encourage you to think about what works for you.

As a couple or family you are unique, so what is it that works for you? What is important to you? And what is meaningful to you?

Often when people talk about personalising they will talk about the signs or the keepsakes but I am talking about other things. The way you walk in to your ceremony, the way you honour those who can’t be there, the music you choose, the in jokes that are shared or the personalised unity ceremony. Creating a ceremony that truly reflects you and that isn’t the same as anyone else’s creates wonderful memories for all.

So don’t forget to keep your day personal. 😊
