We're looking for a couple of trades to help us with our toilet refurbishment project that is just about to kick off: A plumber and a joiner willing to spend no more than a couple of Saturday mornings helping out the UKs largest youth charity organisation.

Looking for something to do with your little ones over Halloween? We have a unique event that features friendly real life actors as fun skeletons, witches and zombies in our spooky woodland trail and fireside story. After experiencing our spooky trail and being told off by our head witch you can get your crafty skills on as you go inside to carve a free pumpkin to take home, and warm up with a free hotdog and juice.

Last night's Spooky Tale and Trail Event at The Scout Hut was amazing. Over 100 children experienced our interactive spooky trail, listened in awe while our grumpy witch told them a spooky story around our camp fire and ended the evening by carving a pumpkin to take home and warming up with a hot chocolate. I'm not sure who had the best time, the kids or all our awesome volunteers at The Scout Hut. Leaders, volunteers and kids from all our sections took part and deserve thanks, 2nd Atherton Beaver Colony, 2nd Atherton Scout Group, 2nd Atherton Cub Pack, Impeesa Explorer Scout Unit. A special mention to Daniel Thomond who uplifted our woodland spooky trail with superb lighting.

Oliver recently had his Nerf birthday party at the Scout Hut with Sergeant Shotsworth. We all highly recommend Busy Bushcraft parties ... at the 2nd Atherton Scout Hut of course.

Looking for a venue for a regular Saturday morning class? We've now got availability for someone who needs a good size hall (8m x 20m) on a Saturday or Sunday. Exercise classes, clubs and societies are all welcome. We also have a meeting room and well equipped kitchen. Visit www.2ndathertonscouts.org.uk for more information or message us.

Thinking of volunteering in your community? Scouts need adult volunteers but not just Scout leaders. We are looking for someone to fulfill a trustee vacancy.

What do trustees do?
Help ensure the Scout group follows the rules
Make sure Scouts have enough money for activities
Check building and equipment and well looked after
Check we're aligned with Scout values
Complete any necessary admin
Influence the future of Scouts

We meet once a month, in the evening and some occasional hours in between.

We're specifically looking for someone to help with our accounts.
You don't need to be an accountant. Just decent with numbers and able to work a spreadsheet.
