🌱 Ashover Home Produce Club Annual Show – Saturday 5th September! 🥧🌸

A much-loved Ashover tradition, the Home Produce Club has been helping the community grow, bake, preserve and share since 1941, when it was founded during the Dig for Victory campaign. 🌱🇬🇧

Now it’s time for their Annual Open Show, held every year on the first Saturday in September!

Expect a wonderful celebration of everything homegrown and homemade — from glorious fruit, vegetables and flowers to delicious baking, preserves and more. 🍎🥕🍰🌼

Whether you’re a seasoned grower, a keen baker or simply fancy coming along to see what’s been produced, everyone is welcome!

Andy and Katie's special day gave them the perfect excuse to show off not only a beautiful wedding, but also our beautiful village. ❤️

From the winding lanes and historic stone walls to the charming bus stops, quaint cottages and picture-perfect corners of Ashover, every backdrop was simply stunning. 🏡🌿

It's easy to see why so many couples choose to celebrate here. Whether it's capturing those unforgettable wedding photos or gathering with family and friends afterwards at Ashover Parish Hall, our village really does provide the perfect setting for making lifelong memories.

A huge congratulations to Andy and Katie on their wedding, and thank you for choosing Ashover Parish Hall to celebrate your special day with family and friends. ❤️

What a fantastic day it was! The sunshine made the most of our outdoor space, while inside the hall looked absolutely stunning. Beautifully dressed with elegant lining and chairs by Fisher Events, it was hard to believe it was the same village hall! 🤍🌿

From the gorgeous décor to the wonderful atmosphere, it was a joy to see the hall transformed into the perfect setting for such a memorable celebration.

We wish Andy and Katie every happiness for the future and thank them for letting us be a small part of their special day. 🥂💕

There are two fantastic local events taking place this week, so make sure you don't miss them!

One of Derbyshire's favourite traditional country shows, featuring livestock, competitions, entertainment, local food, trade stands and plenty to enjoy for all ages.

A brilliant community show celebrating our local countryside with attractions, displays, exhibits and fun for the whole family.

Whether you're a local resident or visiting the area, these are two fantastic summer events not to be missed. We hope to see you there!

✨ A look back at a wonderful celebration from a few weeks ago! ✨

Our hall was completely transformed for a fantastic evening, with beautiful festoon lighting, rustic hessian drapes and barrels creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable party. 🌿💡

Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of cheeses paired with locally brewed beers at our bar from Thornbridge Brewery & Ashover Brew Co. 🍺🧀, making for a brilliant evening of great food, great company and plenty of laughter.

It's always amazing to see how our hall can be transformed to suit every occasion. If you're planning a special celebration, we'd love to help bring your ideas to life!

🌱 Ashover Home Produce Club – Growing Together Since 1941! 🌸🥧

Established in April 1941 during the Dig for Victory campaign, Ashover Home Produce Club has been bringing together people who love growing, baking, preserving and sharing their skills for over 85 years. 🍓🥕🌼

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just getting started, there's something for everyone:

🌿 Grow your own fruit, vegetables and flowers
🍰 Enjoy home baking, preserving and winemaking
💚 Share ideas, tips and seasonal inspiration with like-minded people

The club meets eight times a year, with a variety of enjoyable events including:

🪴 Spring plant sales
🎄 Christmas wreath-making workshops
🎤 Guest speakers, demonstrations and more

☕🐾 Coffee Morning Summer Break 🐾☕

Our Coffee Mornings at Ashover Parish Hall are now taking a little break for the summer holidays. 🌞

A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us, enjoyed a cuppa, and helped support Ashgate Hospice over the past few months. Your support has made a real difference. 💜

We'll be back on Tuesday 8th September, from 10:00am–12:00pm, and we'd love to see you then for more coffee, cake, chats, and friendly faces (including your four-legged friends! 🐶☕).
