Ten years. One beautiful secret. And the chance to say, “I still choose you.”

Lucy and Adam celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with an intimate vow renewal and anniversary blessing at Bilsington Priory in Kent, planned with all the romance and excitement of an elopement.

It really was like eloping all over again, because Lucy kept the plans secret, and Adam knew nothing about the celebration until just a few days beforehand.

There was no long guest list or pressure to recreate their wedding day. Instead, they shared the occasion with their three boys and parents in the historic Great Hall at Bilsington Priory. There were meaningful words, beautiful photographs and time to celebrate everything their marriage had become over the past ten years.

A milestone anniversary deserves more than a card or a special dinner. This was truly special: a chance to pause, reflect on the life they had built together and make new promises for the years ahead.

Whether you are celebrating your 10th, 20th, 25th or 40th wedding anniversary, an elopement-style vow renewal can be just as personal and romantic as your wedding day, perhaps even more so, because you now understand the meaning of choosing one another.

Jon and Nicole found us all the way from North Carolina, and trusted us to create their wedding in England without being able to pop over for venue visits, supplier meetings or all those usual planning moments beforehand. That makes sharing their day feel particularly special. 🤍

They met on a dating app in 2018 and, in almost eight years together, have done long distance, lived together and somehow managed 10 house moves between them. These days, home is Charlotte with their two dogs, Moji and Bronco, with travelling, golf and summers on the boat filling the spaces in between.

Then, for one very important adventure, they chose Allington Castle.

And what a day it was. Beautiful, intimate and full of personality, with the most adorable vows and that wonderful feeling you get when a wedding is completely, unmistakably about the two people at the heart of it.

There is something incredibly special about a couple finding us from thousands of miles away and saying, essentially, we trust you with this.

Our lovely couple travelled from the US to marry here in England, entrusting us to plan everything from afar. They weren’t able to visit venues or meet suppliers beforehand, so communication, organisation and complete confidence in the team around them mattered enormously.

Meadow-inspired tablescape at Bilsington Priory 🌿💜

Taking our cue from the wildflower meadow beyond the table; soft blues, lilacs and purples, meadow flowers, patterned linens, coloured glassware and just a little touch of vintage china.

It feels wonderfully English, slightly romantic and completely at home in the grounds of the Priory.

So, naturally, we couldn’t just have a family BBQ in the garden without adding a little bit of E-Lope styling…

A riot of colour, a few flowers (thank you House of Mimi Fleur 🌸), and our slightly eccentric garden bar, especially created for the occasion — and suddenly the humble anniversary barbecue has become our very own secret pub garden.

Nothing formal. Nothing fancy. Just family, food, colour and 33 years worth celebrating.
