📸 A perfect reminder that sometimes the best moments are the ones nobody sees coming. ❤️🐾

Sarah and Steve’s elopement was full of animal surprises — not least when Zara decided she was going to make an entrance during the ceremony! 🐾

Just as vows were being exchanged, Zara appeared and then proceeded to sit on Libby’s lap.

The question is… who left the Priory door open? 😂

Thankfully, every wedding needs a little unexpected magic, and Zara certainly made sure she was part of the story. One more unforgettable memory from a day filled with love, laughter and the kind of moments you simply couldn’t plan if you tried.

The sunshine arrived, the gardens burst into bloom, and Bilsington Priory provided the most beautiful backdrop for Steve and Sarah’s gorgeous elopement.

From blossom-laden branches and vibrant spring colour to the historic beauty of the Priory itself, every aspect of the day felt alive with the promise of a new season. As they exchanged their vows, with Libby and Sam as their witnesses, and read the most heartfelt words to one another, it was impossible not to be reminded that weddings, much like spring, are all about new beginnings.

A day filled with sunshine, colour, laughter and love, and the start of a wonderful new chapter together.

Thank you, Steve and Sarah, for allowing us to be part of such a special day. We will cherish the memories forever.

Inspired by Hiedi and Kris, who reminded us exactly why we love what we do.

At Team E-Lope, we have a secret we share,
A fondness for couples and love in the air.
Not tables of ten or a guest list to view,
But something quite special, the wonderful two.

Two hands finding comfort, two hearts beating fast,
Two people deciding they’ve found home at last.
Two glasses of bubbles, two seats by the fire,
Two souls choosing love over fuss and attire.

Two rings on a cushion, two vows softly said,
Two footsteps together wherever they’re led.
Two witnesses smiling, or sometimes none there,
Just two people wrapped in a moment they share.

We’ve planned helicopters, castles and ponies,
Champagne in gardens and ceremonies said in secret.
Yet after the flowers and photographs too,
The part that we treasure is always the two.

Two little dogs dressed as a bride and a groom,
Bringing their own kind of joy to the room.
Two wagging tails, two curious eyes,
Stealing the show and the biggest surprise.

Because love isn’t measured by numbers or scale,
By how many guests fill a marquee or priory.
The magic we’ve witnessed, again and anew,
Is often at its strongest when love starts with two.

So here’s to the couples who quietly choose,
A wedding that’s theirs, with nothing to prove.

There was something deeply moving about the music Hiedi and Kris chose for their intimate wedding at Allington Castle.

As Hiedi walked quietly through the castle towards Kris to the sound of Hauser’s interpretation of Amazing Grace, the atmosphere felt reflective, emotional and full of love.

Throughout their ceremony, Celtic worship music threaded gently through, bringing a sense of heritage, faith and closeness that suited a small wedding so beautifully. From In Christ Alone to Graves Into Gardens, every piece of music felt intentional rather than performative. Not chosen for a crowd, but chosen because it meant something to them.

And then after the emotion came joy.

The couple entered Afternoon Tea to I Want To Hold Your Hand by The Beatles, asking for it to continue playing “so we can all have a little dance and sing to it as we enter”

This is one of the loveliest things about intimate weddings. There is room for personality. Room for faith. Room for humour. Room for music that genuinely reflects the couple rather than simply filling silence.

Tiny weddings often sound the biggest emotionally.

Planned all the way from Wales, this beautiful elopement at Allington Castle was never about creating a huge wedding day for show. It was about creating something that felt completely like them.

Surrounded by ancient stone walls and cascading wisteria, they chose an intimate celebration filled with calm, elegance and meaningful moments rather than pressure or performance. Every detail felt thoughtful and personal, from the timeless styling to the atmosphere they created around the people closest to them.

There is something incredibly special about couples who quietly stand tall in their own decisions and create a wedding that reflects who they truly are, not simply what is expected of them.

A veil is one of the few elements of a wedding outfit that creates true drama in photographs without needing embellishment. The longer the veil, the more movement, softness and cinematic feel it creates, particularly outdoors where wind and natural light can bring it to life.

Cathedral veils work beautifully at historic venues because they echo the scale and grandeur of old architecture, gravel driveways, gardens and long walkways. They also photograph incredibly well from behind, creating shape, texture and flow through the image.

Planning an elopement is, in so many ways, completely different to planning a large wedding.

There are fewer guests, fewer opinions, less formality and often far more freedom to create a day that genuinely reflects the two of you.

But when it comes down to the wedding day itself, the emotions remain exactly the same.

The anticipation while getting ready.
The quiet moments before the ceremony.
The excitement of putting on the dress or fastening cufflinks.
The nerves.
The laughter.
The overwhelming feeling of “we’re actually doing this.”

An elopement never means “less.”
If anything, it often allows couples to feel more present within the experience because the day becomes entirely about the two of them and the promises they are making.

And that is why the details still matter.
The photographs still matter.
The flowers still matter.
The atmosphere still matters.
